  1. At a 20-19-11 record with 51 points, the Canucks are sitting 5th (3rd to last) in the weakest division in the NHL with 50 games played.   This team has already shown us their quality this year and to no one's surprise, we have been doing horribly. We have a downgraded team from last year in terms of points, we have aging vets, very inconsistent play, continuous injury problems (one player is healed, another gets injured right after)...etc. For the sake of this team's future, especially considering the situation we are in this year, is it a good idea to try and compete for playoffs, or should management try to trade away our aging players, let the kids pay and cement our place for the best draft position we can get? There's lots of speculation that down these next few weeks, management might try to add some rental players if the progress of the team is going well, but at what expense? Would you really be willing to give up draft picks and potentially even prospects? Even if we manage to get a wildcard spot, the chances are high that we would most likely have to face the LA Kings, which I believe we would easily lose to. So is it worth it to fail in the 1st or 2nd round (if we're lucky) and get a mid to low draft pick and keep on being a middle of the pack team? Or would you allow more space for the young players to play for a mere 32 more games to get a homerun pick that can really alter this team's successes in the future?
  2. Retro Jersey Unveil (Feb 13 vs Leafs) - Bonus Jake pics!

Well, when the "new jerseys" (our current ones) were introduced, the designers specifically said that the colour orientation of these current ones are to reflect the colours of the west coast and the city of Vancouver itself. Hence there being the "Vancouver" lettering on top of the orca whale. So yeah, the designers and organization obviously made it their motive. The old ones look awful. Intimidating and crisp? Looks like someone just scribbled red and yellow lines for the center logo. The Aquilinis obviously thought so themselves, which is why they changed the colours again and again. But hey, if you like them, that's fine, it's to your opinion.
  3. 2017 All Star to be in LA, nothing new with expansion

I rest my case. Also has some of the highest, if not the highest homeless population in all of Canada. Don't get me wrong, Vancouver is beautiful. But it certainly isn't the "greatest place on earth" as you are advertising. Many problems within this city that needs to be fixed.  Whatever though. That's only to your personal opinion.

Ha-ha. Biased much? Just within North America, I've been in Vancouver, LA, Montreal, Toronto and New York. Other than the natural beauty, everything else I think trumps Vancouver. Impeccable selection of women from all races?? You serious? You're pretty much describing all of Canada, considering Canada is a country made up of all different races. Even then with the women, Montreal has that over us. Safe? Stabcouver? There seems to be more and more cases of random stabbings in Vancouver going up. Incredible climate? Yeah, sorry I prefer beautiful sunny weather over the dreary rain. Other than some outdoor activities you can do and even to do those are pretty expensive (snowboarding, skiing..etc.), It's a boring city to be honest in comparison to many others that I've been to. Rainy weather, Unaffordable house prices, on and on...   It ISN'T the greatest place on earth.
  5. I thought we were shipping OUT 30+ year olds on our team ... Why would get GIVE UP assets to get a player that's in the category of what we want to get rid of? Not happening.

Those are gosh awful terrible looking jerseys. I swear I don't understand vancouverites and their love for these jerseys, everyone else out of BC that I know says they look horrific. The blue green and white fit more for the colours of this city. I don't get all the hype about these old ones. Look like they could be jerseys for team Germany, not Vancouver. yeesh. Overrated by a ton.
  7. A Guy Like Me, By John Scott

The NHL is a joke of an organization because of the arrogant head brass that runs this league. I for one might even watch some of the all-star game (when prior years I wouldn't bother) because John Scott will be playing in it. After all, isn't that what these events are all about? Something unexpected, different, and fun? Isn't that what adds to excitement as well? It's all about having a good time anyways, so what's the big problem? The NHL doesn't want their image being hurt? Well didn't these idiots consider that fans could also pretty much take advantage and screw around with the voting system too? Helk, it was even a bit questionable when Zemgus Girgensons won the all-star voting ballot and was named an all-star a few years ago (he's an average player at best) because of all the votes from Latvia. The all star game is a joke. The downfall started after they got rid of the East vs. West. They leave the "choice" to the fans but in the end they just change things if they don't like it...ok. I applaud you NHL. Well done.
  8. [Proposal] Trade with Phoenix ?

LOL.  Tell why in the world, Arizona would even consider taking in 8.75 million in cap space for a bunch of old timers that aren't even contributing to their current team? Each of these players are worth 4th and 5th rounders at most and you're telling them to give up their first rounder?  If you have 11 million in cap space, might as well try to enter the Stamkos sweepstakes or look to sign players that can play top 6 (eg. lucic). Save the money for the offseason. Also, wouldn't adding 3 players to a full roster mean they'd have to bump 1 or two players to the minors and even possibly lose them on waivers? Why would management want to screw themselves over? Looks like someone's been playing too much NHL 16.
  9. lol. The OP has only made like 80 posts. Cut him some slack. Its not like you all didn't mistakes before on the forum either. Lots CDC have their heads up their asses. Way to treat a fellow fan eh? And you still don't understand why Canucks fans are one of the most hated fanbases in the league...
  10. So... what you're saying is, you guys would make fun of a "friend" about his past physical abuse that he was forced to suffer through? That's disgusting. What a cool bunch..
  11. Well then, we can ask... when does it go too far? We've known that hockey players chirp eachother, that's no secret. But to mention and bring in one's personal family situation? To bring back past, emotional scarring events? Really?
  12. There are reasons why the Canucks are one, if not the most hated team in the entire league. It's because of pests like Burrows. It's also because people here are fine with defending Burrows' antics, but cry out bloody murder whenever a player like Burrows, (I.E. Marchand, and Bolland) do the same things to the Canucks. Burrows has done a lot for the Canucks. He's scored some big goals like the Game 7 against Chicago, but there's no excuse for his antics. He's known as a pest around the league...countless players have expressed that. Assistant Captain....great way to represent the organization eh?   Yeesh.. I wonder how much more worse it was when we had Kesler-Burrows.
