  1. No, chances are both leagues finish around the same time. He's relatively unknown like many high school players and as a defensemen isn't generally the topic of discussion for scouts watching high school games. He wasn't part of the USNTDP system either, but I'd guess a lot of teams were probably looking to draft him in the later rounds hoping for a steal. Smart move by management to take a risk and get the player they want with this pick. Thanks, didn't see this tweet before. Looking forward to watching him next year.
  2. I'm kind of hoping he has matches with Naito and Ibushi rn. Probably to team with Shane vs Owens and Zayn.
  3. Any news on whether he's confirmed his NCAA plans?
  4. There's no chance Y2J beats Brock in 2018, not sure another WWE run appeals to Y2J at this point.
  5. Gaudette would play really well with Granlund and Gadjovich IMO. GGG line.
  6. I've never had an issue with this rule tbh. It's the fighters responsibility to come in on weight and if they can't then the opponent should be reimbursed for being able to.
  7. I'm just happy that NJPW is finally going to run with the two of them. NJPW/Kota relationship has always been on/off and it seems like they finally may be about to do something for real.
  8. I'm so happy Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega reunited. Their impending match with the Young Bucks is going to be a spectacle!
  9. Swagsuke gonna main event with AJ at Mania....wow.
  10. Damn, it has to suck to be a Miami fan atm. Just a short while ago the team seemed like it was finally putting together a competitive team that could potentially compete and in a short span their future ace (Jose Fernandez) has passed away and they've traded away Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, Dee Gordon, Adeiny Hechavarria, and Cristian Yelich.
  11. Grichuk and Granderson are some good pick-ups at decent salaries. I wonder if Carrera is on the way out now?
  12. Floating this so she can make a surprise entrance at the Royal Rumble IMO.
  13. Interesting move from the Giants who just got Longoria a little while ago. They'll need a lot of bounce back seasons from most of the team if they want to be competitive.
  14. yeah, Chris Jericho's Rock and Wrestling Rager...
  15. Working a few times with NJPW and most likely bringing a few of their talents aboard the cruise he's hosting later this year.
  16. The Celtics are my favourite team to watch but I'm hesitant to cheer for them because of the inevitable Lebron Finals appearance again this year.
  17. Benning has also been drafting from much better positions with a less competitive team. However, Nonis has had a couple of dud drafts in his time with Vancouver and Toronto. For comparison: Nonis (Vancouver) 2004 (late 1st round - Cory Schneider, late 3rd round - Alex Edler, late 5th round - Mike Brown, late 9th round - Jannik Hansen) 2005 (early 1st round - Luc Bourdon, late 2nd round - Mason Raymond) 2006 (mid 1st round - Michael Grabner, early 6th round - Sergei Shirokov) 2007 (late round picks - no NHL players) Nonis (Toronto) 2013 (late round picks - no NHL players) 2014 (early 1st round - William Nylander) Benning 2014 (early 1st round - Jake Virtanen, late 1st round - Jared McCann, early 3rd round - Nikita Tryamkin, early 5th round - Gustav Forsling) 2015 (late 1st round - Brock Boeser) Benning picks also include Demko, Gaudette, Juolevi, and Pettersson that are very likely to be playing in the NHL soon. Too lazy to check how Benning compares with GMs on other teams for those drafts though.
  18. The most impressive part of EPs play, and Swedens in general was the amount of heart and chippiness they brought to this tournament. Moral victories don't mean much to most of them but I don't think anyone expected that type of showing from their group at WJC. Guys like Tim Soderlund, Lias Andersson, Rasmus Dahlin, and EP are going to be difficult to compete with as they get older and play in the Olympics or World Championships.
  19. In fairness Pettersson didn't really get any regular shift work this game.
  20. Not surprised Lias Andersson threw his medal into the crowd and a lot of their players took their medals off quickly. Unfair game for the Swedes and they really shouldn't have the losing team out on the ice when the other team is celebrating.
  21. Pretty much took Dahlin and EP out of the last ten minutes of the game. If I'm either of those two I'm really angry with the refs tonight.
