  1. Ryan Miller absolutely SLAMS critics of goaltending equipment with these 10 points, number 7 will shock you!
  2. What's crazy is that the season is over already. Seems like it just flew by this year.
  3. With a track record like that, it's amazing he has kids!
  4. This is exactly what puzzles me when I read something like "Benning and Linden want to rebuild but ownership doesn't". What would we be doing differently if this was a "rebuild", for those that claim it isn't? Trade the Sedins, despite their NMCs and the fact that we don't have any replacements for them? I don't get it. This IS a rebuild.
  5. Yeah, you nailed it. It baffles me that this is so difficult for some people to understand.
  6. Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Communist Party?
  7. Yeah, that's exactly what I said, verbatim. He might as well go be a garbageman, that was clearly my implication. Look, some people are taking what I said all wrong. It's foolish to look at Schroeder's pay day and be envious, that's all. It wasn't easy for him to get there, and it won't be a cake walk after his hockey career is over. That's it. I'm not saying he's a loser, I'm not saying he shouldn't have pursued his dreams. But it's not all sunshine and rainbows and it strikes me as odd to be envious. If anyone here feels like I'm saying you shouldn't pursue your dreams, that's just flat-out wrong. But if you're going to ignore all the hard work, sacrifices, and risk to just say "but that sweet $300k payday tho" then yeah, I'm going to call BS.
  8. Well, I should have added the word "financially" at the end, but I thought it was implied given the post I quoted.
  9. Well, if you had dedicated your life to hockey from an early age, likely neglecting other things along the way, you could have had a marginal shot at being good enough to make the NHL. Then, if you work your ass off, you might have a fringe career like Schroeder, which, let's not kid ourselves, is still better than the vast majority of people that ever play the game. Finally, you've earned a shot at $300k in a year for a hockey career that isn't likely to get much better or, relatively, last much longer. So once you're done, you'll have few marketable skills and no work experience. There really isn't much about that to envy.
  10. What's the point of reserving a post? Just post when you're ready. Or are you worried that your posts need to be as close to the main page as possible for e-points? No, seriously, if there are e-points at stake then I want in. My prediction is simple. We make the playoffs with a decent chance at seeing the second round. Huge bounce back year that sees the team become very competitive again. Young players take a step forward, new additions contribute, and our vets lead the way. It will NOT look like last season.
  11. Well, the post does say that we lost it essentially because we took on Booth's salary. But that misses the fact that, because of the trade, we weren't stuck with Sturm and Samuelson's contracts (though it's true that they weren't for as long as Booth's). I don't think it's really that bad, overall. Most of the trades listed are really quite inconsequential in the big scheme of things.
  12. Minus 160 and counting for that first post. That's some Clutch level of down voting right there.
  13. He intentionally gave you a simplified answer because you made a very simplified statement about cap space. It's funny that you recognize that in his statement but not your own.
  14. Right, you keep coming back to the same idea that the replies are one-off jokes and memes, but perhaps the fisherman should blame his bait on this one. I do understand that you've put some effort in your post, that is apparent. But it's also a babbling, incoherent mess. You really don't stick to one central idea (Tanev) as you veer off wildly onto other topics. You really only provide one key thought on Tanev's weaknesses which is centred on his lack of an outlet pass. I also fully comprehend your "domino" theory that it causes a chain of other malformations in our play, but I think you're overselling it quite a bit. No one claims Tanev is an offensive powerhouse, we are all well aware that it's not his strength. Management and coaching is aware of this, too. Tanev does not make the team worse, overall. That's just nonsense and I'd really expect you to see that if you've actually been a fan of this team since 94. So that's why your post isn't being treated seriously. It doesn't deserve to be.
  15. Welcome to the forums, I like you already.
