  1. I get really cagey every time Jim Hughson says "David Desharnais"

  2. Watching the ANA vs. EDM series, Timothy Liljegren's skating reminds me a lot of Brandon Montour's. They are both outstanding skaters. I see a lot of similarities in their games as well, but Liljegren definitely has more offensive upside.
  3. "Hope for the best, expect the worst." My motto for draft lottery day. @Toni Zamboni
  4. And obviously, I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing.
  5. Bohemian Rhapsody Run to the Hills I Want It That Way (a Jared McCann classic)
  6. Lol. This debate reminds me a lot of when we'd draft somebody and people would be all like "but what face was he making???"
  7. Alberts would be exactly what we need if we meet the Kings in the 1st round.
  8. YES!!!!! This makes me so happy.
  9. I agree that he won't intimidate anyone, but he's not soft in the way that Danny Briere wasn't soft.
  10. Especially Granlund. He's anything but soft.
  11. This was posted just five days ago for those looking for more footage. I think his career path will be very similar to that of Pastrnak's thus far. Looking at stats to determine a player's future isn't something that I'm the biggest fan of but if you look at their international numbers, Pastrnak's numbers in the AHL/NHL in his draft+ season (and even size for that matter), there are many parallels. It's safe to say that in a re-draft of the 2014 class Pastrnak would for sure go in the top-5. If we want to take a forward that isn't Patrick or Hischier, I would hate to see this guy slip away from us. Keep in mind too that before we hired Benning, he had spent most of that season in Boston where he would have scouted Pastrnak at the World Juniours, the WJC-18 tournament, and possibly elsewhere. I do realize that he selected McCann one pick before the B's took Pastrnak, but whatever the case (whether it be prioritizing selecting a centre (doesn't really matter)), you can bet that Benning had a lot to do with the Bruins drafting Pastrnak, and I can see why he would love a guy like Necas as well. I know I've been pretty persistent in preaching the good name of Martin Necas to you guys, but I'm just trying to get the point across that Necas being higher on some teams lists (which is certainly the case) than guys like Mittelstadt and Vilardi isn't as stupid and idiotic as some of you make it out to be.
  12. I just like these guys more. Mittelstadt is close though. WARNING: Serious Necas hype coming up here. Necas is going to be an unbelievable player in the NHL. He doesn't get as much exposure as most of the other prospects at the top of this draft class, but honestly, over any other forward in this draft (other than Hischier and to a lesser extent Patrick) I think that he has the highest offensive ceiling. People underestimate how easily his game will transfer to the NHL too. He still has some filling in to do, but it's his exceptional overall skating, playmaking ability, two-way play, puck pursuit, etc. that's going to allow him to crack an NHL roster spot sooner rather than later. Oh, and I forgot to mention that he's already playing against men and absolutely killed it in the playoffs in Czech's top league. He reminds me so much of Pastrnak it's insane. If he was maybe 20 lbs. heavier, he'd be #1 on my list. Size is vital if you want to be a top centre in the NHL (unless you have godly physical abilities like McDavid). I think Button is pretty close to bang on with the Giroux comparison. Necas is the epitome of a high reward player, and I don't think it would be a risky pick at all. For sure by the 2018-2019 season, you'll have a player who's ready to play in the NHL. He is even eligible for Utica next year! He's cemented as my #3 forward in this draft, and not far behind the top-2 at all.
  13. My top-5 at the moment: Patrick Hischier Liljegren Necas Glass
