  1. Alexandre Grenier Talk

^ I am not sure he will be around for much longer. I wonder if Grenier is the guy who is included in some package instead of a Gaunce or Shinkaruk like some people are speculating.
  2. 2016 NHL Entry Draft

Where we will probably finish, it will probably be the 4th option.
  3. Jordan Subban Talk

Yes that is true. But coming from the defense and moving to wing should give Subban the edge in the defensive side of the game. Plus with his offensive flair.....who knows. I am sure Benning has thought about it and it looks like they are going to develope him as a Dman.
  4. Jordan Subban Talk

Good question. Then size would be less of a concern. I was just looking at LW Johnny Gaudreau and he is only 5'9" and 157lbs. Playing RW might not be a bad option for Subban.
  5. Jordan Subban Talk

I was never very high on Subban. Though I am starting to come around. I was thinking, with the new NHL, where speed and skill is dominant, you would have to like Subban's chances of making it.
  6. Nikita Tryamkin Talk

Don't know where Tryamkin's level of development is at, but I can see the Canucks bringing him in slowly like they are doing with Virtanen and McCann.
  7. Brendan Gaunce Talk

    Haha...this is funny.
  8. Tate Olson Talk

My guess would be yes. Benning would have done at least as much scouting as an AGM for Boston as a GM for the Nucks. The pick he is most proud of was Paul Gaustad. He pushed hard for Gaustad in the 7th round as Director of Scouting for Buffalo. Trotman fits Benning's scouting profile. Like our own Mackenzie Stewart and Paul Gaustad, Trotman is a big, fiesty, driven 7th round selection. This bodes well for Tate Olson. Another 7th round gem from Benning?
  9. Jake Virtanen Talk

    ^ Love it! Thanks.
  10. 2016 NHL Entry Draft

I would be happy with Juolevi too of course. But if you had to choose between him and Segachev? Yes Dubois as our pick would also make me very happy. There are so many to choose from. If we missed the playoffs, we would be guaranteed a top six forward or top 4 Dman. In fact, with Benning's drafting ability, I believe we will end up with a top 15 talent even if we made the playoffs.
  11. 2016 NHL Entry Draft

Yes, he certainly is the complete package. What really sticks out for me though is his calm and composed play. Doesn't matter what the situation is or the pressure, he always seems to keep his composure. This complete inner command of ones self, is a quality you need to be elite. If it came to choosing between Juolevi vs Sergachev, I too would take the Russian.
  12. Big, physical, skates well, plays right side D. Who needs Madison Bowey?
  13. Help for our defense.
  14. Hunter Shinkaruk Talk

Concussion from the World Juniors. Lets hope it didn't change his game permanently. Is the best case scenario for Shinkaruk, 13th forward next season?
  15. Adam Gaudette Talk

Just taking a jab at Desi.
