if that was petey’s stick would you still put him down. louie is doing the job TG asks him to do. let’s accept that louie is not the 6 million, elite scorer he once was. he is used as a defensive, mostly player. judge him on that job. 

He never was an elite scorer though.  But as you said, we’re stuck with the contract Gillis signed.  We can only hope the cap goes up in the future as we’re stuck with the garbage contract.

Unfortunately Newbie, Eriksson was a Benning signing. It just looks like a Gillis signing because it seemed to be the right fit with the Twins and the team. The team was struggling at the time. And the only way to entice a free agent would have been money and term. Which is what Loui got. I'm sure if Benning had the foresight to see what he'd actually perform at. He would never have signed him in the first place.
