oh for sure- and there are psychotherapeutic potentials, especially within the realm of psychedelics. i think there are people who know how to use them well, responsibly and to benefit today without a trained practitioner overseeing/guiding them, but there are revolutionary possibilities within the scope of psilocybin talk therapies imo. if research into it weren't so stilted by government and ideology throughout the past decades, i think we could have made very big strides in health and psychology by now. there's been a lot of wasted time.

what i had more in mind when i wrote the status, though, was the likely benefits it would have on the lives of persons with hard substance disorders; they'd be able to know their product, overdoses would be much less likely, and buying from regulated sources would better compel them to seek help, treatment and a healthier community. it would also be nice to get money away from the illegitimates making money in the trade right now.

      one can dream :( :)

Just look at the mess the government has done with legal pot,it was easier to get before it was legal, and It is about helping people, not always about money.

Corporate Canada has made it twice as expensive and half as potent,

It would be like going to the liquor store and buying a bottle of Scotch that was half water and more expensive, just as example.

Legalize all drugs and tax them accordingly to the bight they are on society, and big pharma might have to kick in billions for the damage they have done with opiates,so I really doubt this happens.

Hopefully the courts can help with that.

Portugal has the right idea with decriminalizing use. We can still go after the bastards that put fentanyl and other nasties in drugs and allow safe access at the same time.
