This is your daily reminder that eating meat is unethical.

With automation, and the 1%/10% making even more, yes EVEN MORE $... There needs to be a balance in this world, it's causing a lot of pain.
Not so much welfare, but there really should be a stipend for all humans. There will be eventually, but the worlds population will need to shrink significantly.
ROBOTS, PAY FOR US ALL. That's the future...

Oh,you mean to be able to live AND eat in Vancouver Victoria Toronto,it's getting out of hand.so many homeless and the government talks economy(for the rich).
How about do your elected jobs and start helping honest Canadians(the rest of us),try that on for size for a change, the rich really don't need your help.
-
@Jimmy McGill You are right, not enough people realize the importance of disability insurance. One's ability to work is the most valuable asset most people possess.

I need the saddest song you know. Bonus points will be granted for obscurity.

Just got assaulted lol. Some dude came up to me while I was smoking and repeatedly asked for a cigarette in a threatening tone and began tapping my chin. After I refused a few times, he hit me.

Glad you're OK.
You should still file a police report. Even though without eye witnesses nothing will likely happen, at least you give them a time, date and a description of the loser so that if this guy pulls this $&!#e on someone else (and he will), then at least it could help them nail this guy for multiple assaults when they catch him after he's done it again.

mental illness doesn't exist

honestly, should Van look at trading Markstrom?
-
I'm expecting Demko to be our clear #1 for at least the next decade now.

Someone hire me.

I think it's time for Benning to go tbh. Give Brackett the GM job.

The Han Dynasty was a joke lol, though I am not sure on the timelines, maybe it was done quicker who knows?? It was merely a response to 'JB is building a dynasty' Though I enjoyed the breakdown comparison, maybe Benning should use more violence.
Ironman I know you weren't defending the LE signing but I've seen others say 'Well LE turned out better than Lucic, score one for Benning.' Sorry for the confusion.
-
personally, i’ld like benning to get 2 more years to build this team. if we are still at the bottom of the league, then change him. the rebuild didn’t really start till boeser’s draft. thing is, some of the picks they’ve had will still be 1 or 2 more years till they make the nhl.
funny thing. everyone on here shouted don’t trade draft picks for players further along in their development. now people are saying we should trade picks for players on the narrow end of a slippery slop.
my opinion is, you make a plan for your team and you stick to it.
fans don’t mind a rebuild, as long as it doesn’t take more than 6 months. they don’t dwell on the trades or FA's JB makes that are good, but just the ones that don’t turn out.
draft picks, pettersson, boeser, hughes, gaudette, woo, juolevi, virtanen, lind, madden, lockwood, sautner, demko and dipietro.
trades, pearson, motte, baertschi, goldobin, sutter, granlund, leivo, spooner, and schenn
FA, roussel, beagle, ericksson, schaller, stecher,, teves and rafferty
horvat, edler, tanev and markstrom were already here.
now i might just be a hick from the sticks, but i think that is a good start to a rebuild.
we need 2 skilled top six wingers and 2 young skilled d-men.
right now we have 10 bottom six wingers for maybe 3 spots. plus we have to use 2 of them on the top 2 lines until we can find suitable players to take those spots.
-
@Tre Mac Lol yeah I mean Pettersson, Boeser, and Hughes are sure looking like fringe pieces.
There's no way we will build around these clearly foundational players.
Some of you people are so silly. You don't realize how good you have it.

some guy hanging out outside my building who doesn't even live in it asked me, when i was walking in, if he could hang out with me in my unit for a bit. buddy, i don't even know your name.

so a lot of very creative minds have it worked out that the earth is flat, but they're not accepting it, just like they gave the shaft to galileo smh. geniuses are never accepted in their time.

@Rounoush Could have a whole thread just devoted to Sharpe clips! (Just think if they actually had a big budget to work with! Series was great anyhow....Sean Bean played the role so well!)
-
man, ACT teams are disgusting. people don't deserve to lose their liberties in processes that aren't even judicial. these 'assertive treatment' agencies really hurt people.

Like, sorry if I don't believe in the same abstract concept as you, dude.
But if you do pity my ignorance- could you enlighten me to your level of proper understanding? I have a few questions that might cure my blindness on this topic if you're able to answer them.
How is mental illness reconcilable with Kantian free will/his compatibilist thoughts?
Does mental illness exist of itself or only in relativity to healthy brains?
Would you believe me if I told you I had an extended interaction with a sorcerer earlier this year or would you attribute it to mental dysfunction? Why?

I bought a guitar today.

@112 Sweet. I've been playing for about 15 years or so now. Was in a couple bands a while back, although we never did get serious. Did record a 5 track demo album at a studio called The Hive in Burnaby. After that I took lessons for a year of two with a guy named Dave Martone, who's legitimately one of the best guitarists in the country. I'll link one of his videos. That was a while ago though. Haven't really done much of anything since.

I always love a friend who 'borrows' $60 and repeatedly skimps on promises to pay it back.

Sometimes I wonder what StealthNuck thinks of this place. I imagine he has a lot of thoughts on it and I might ask him one day.

Maybe @StealthNuck belongs to another Canuck’s board, where he is not such an important moderator/administrator, so he gets to play more?

I thought they improved service to the 19. Why am I still waiting 45 mins for a bus?

@Gäz ahhhhh....I have memories of taking "the loser cruiser" (oh, I've heard them all having to rely on transit in my University days ) to SFU in winter. Especially the rare times we had a huge dump of snow. Buses couldn't get up the hill so we all had to get off and make the trek up ourselves.
-
@NewbieCanuckFan My lady went to SFU; she does nooooot miss that transit route at all.

what is the most unethical and hedonistic but legal way i can spend $75?

why do people immediately resort to anger when requesting others to do something. calling me a &^@#ing idiot is not going to put your list of wants on my list of actions u dork. really ruffles my feathers :/

I've never voted in my life and am not starting now.

I get not feeling aligned to anything in our current system, but I personally think it's always worth it to vote for whatever party/individual most closely agrees with your views, or is at least headed in a direction that gets closer to your wishes (even if it's not close at all).
In all fairness, no one is getting what they "want" here. It's just one big compromise.
-
@Alflives - huh; I've heard of spoiled ballots, but I didn't know what they were/what purpose they served. Thanks for the information--I appreciate it and will look into it more.
@Jimmy McGill - a lot of my values and views come out of my lived experiences. People are typically very critical of the way I think about politics--but very few of them, I think, can relate to the life I've had. I've been living in Canada my whole life but feel like a foreigner. People for whom the current government/parliamentary/judicial/etc structures work can never well comprehend that they don't work for some people.
@Ceres - you should know after that vigilante shot that I'm an all-or-nothing thinker. :p
