  1. They only have one NHL quality center and he trips over his own feet and falls on his face 29 times a game. They have at most 3 quality D-men and one of those is a UFA, and they just hired a head coach for the next 3 years who is a specialist at losing a lot. They will be bottom 5 for the next several years. Because of this it might make sense to trade Demko if he can come back healthy and ready to go.
  2. ICK!!!! I was onboard for trading Horvat but I thought they would get something better than a mid to late first, a cap dump and a mediocre prospect. There is a pretty good chance they traded him and didn't get an NHL player out of it.
  3. Benning was bad and fixing the problem in 13 months was probably never going to happen but the current management group has actually made the team even worse. The Miller deal made no sense, they have nothing new in the prospect pool, they might have ruined the couple of prospects they had, and they hired a tank coach too late and without moving out the players to make it easy to tank. Only the Canucks could fail to lose successfully.
  4. 5-5-0, they hired a bad coach to tank but the Canucks can't even do that right.
  5. 8-2 Seattle Martin Jones gets credit for GWG that Miller puts in his own net
  6. Miller is a top line winger, as a centre I am not sure he is an NHL player. If Horvat or Petterson go they really need to find a second line centre as well as a RHD. Unless they are willing to do a complete rebuild from the ground up.
  7. He doesn't really have a couple more AHL years at this point if he wants to be an impact NHL player. At that point he is a 7-8 depth option at best.
  8. He didn't really even get out muscled and it wasn't a dive, he just kind of fell down and drew a random penalty.
  9. I was actually wondering if they use the preseason to audition refs too. It was not a well called game overall and that was an awful call.
  10. Me too. backup goalies are generally pretty replaceable but they really need another qualified D man and it is looking less likely that Rathbone is it.
  11. first goal was fine and the second was flat out bad. Hopefully just rust but it was a bad goal.
  12. And for the guys trying to make the team. I am more concerned that Martin was iffy and Rathbone was poor.
  13. he looked like a veteran in a preseason game. Horvat has nothing to prove and nothing to gain in the preseason.
  14. The only really relevant guys for this season were Rathbone, DeKeyser and Martin. DeKeyser was pretty much invisible, which isn't bad for his roll, Martin was OK, and Rathbone was a tire fire.
  15. rather lose due to idiot refs in the pre season I guess. That was quite the bad call though.
  16. I was going to say that the good news is Martin looking good and the bad news is Rathbone looks awful. Then Martin let that one in.
  17. I have both on, mostly watching the Calgary one and listening to the Vancouver one .
  18. other than the no name brand goalie that Calgary starting lineup in Calgary is a serious piece of work.
  19. I had forgotten just how good Cloutier was in those first 2 game before he fell apart.
  20. Ok, after several slightly crude and obnoxious exchanges that were made all in fun maybe I roped you into the exchange unintentionally. sorry.
  21. I am saying the same thing I have been for months. The players are the problem and not the coach. The party is that they fired a coach that was a small part of the problem, most of the problem is unchanged.
  22. yes, he might be an irritating optimist but he is right about NHL 22.
  23. I am impressed either of you can afford a 22 million dollar blowjob but hey, everyone has their price.
