  1. Best word to describe Brock Boeser?

    Rocket Brock
  2. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Los Angeles Kings

So sweet to beat the Queens... almost made up for the rest of the roadtrip. Decent game by Nilsson... after disastrous start he got his game going... was lucky though the Canucks were in Fight-Back mode. I'm liking the new PP look... the Sedins don't have to shoot... (they won't most of the time) and can just pass. Excellent game overall game by the Sedins both at even strength and on the PP, they started the push and got the first goal. Nice follow through from the Killer B's... they dominated the second period. And once again Boeser showed us why he will be a real scoring machine... that shot was a killer... not even Quick could hold onto it.... and Bo was there to pounce. The defense continued the last few game's pattern a little shaky in the first period... but recovered to play well in the 2nd and 3rd. Overall a good game to build on.
  3. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks

You can really see the difference Tanev makes to this team... being there at all the crucial moments, providing the calming influence, providing the example of play for the rest of the team. Let's hope he comes back quick.
  4. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks

    Kypreos is an idiot.
  5. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks

Worst Chickensh*t referee'd game I have seen in a long time. I guess Green didn't have a choice this game, but its time to rest Markstrom. The good news? The Canucks can afford a few losses, it is better they don't make the playoffs... still need a few high draft picks.
  6. Have you changed your mind on this season? (Discussion)

I predicted the Canucks would either squeak into the playoffs or just miss them. No change in my prediction. As I said then, I think a lot of people under-estimate this team. Right now they are playing slightly better than I expected, but they also have been up against some weaker teams.
  7. We need a #1 goalie...

Markstrom is starting to show why he is the #1 on this team. He was unlucky on the first few games he played, but he moved past that and kept focused. Now he is playing as well as I have ever seen him play. Its kinda funny, but all those games he sat on the bench and watched Miller... I am seeing a lot of Miller in his game... the way he moves laterally, the way he shift position to anticipate... I think he was a real student of Miller's style... but of course, he has adapted the mobility that was Miller's strong point to his own advantage of size. I'm impressed... hoping he can keep it up.
  8. [PGT] Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Vancouver Canucks

This is his key asset... ice water for blood... the guy is completely cool, calm, collected... poised. And of course, it is only going to get better... he's a rookie for Pete's sake.
  9. What I see is a guy who seems NEVER to lose his cool... never to break a sweat. Hat-trick? No big deal... just getting the job done. Not that he seems to be carrying a big ego... he is just very relaxed. The word I would use? POISE I'm also going to make a prediction: Safeway will be handing out that $1 Million dollar prize for 5 goals in a game.
  10. [Rumour] Oilers looking for scoring on the wing

Personally I think Sutter is too high a price to pay for Puljujarvi. Offer them Gagner and a prospect, in return we take Poolparty and Strome.
  11. [Rumour] Oilers looking for scoring on the wing

You are right... an Eriksson trade to the Coilers is a pipe dream... Oilers don't have the CAP space. Eriksson will remain a Canuck... not as bad a millstone around our neck as Lucic will be in Edmonchuck, but not a bargain. And if the Canucks offered to trade Gagner, they would probably get more back than Puljujarvi considering how desperate Edmonton is... Edmonton would want to CAP dump would probably want the Canucks to take Strome... who we could then offload at the deadline.
  12. [PGT] Dallas Stars vs. Vancouver Canucks

People who are talking about trading Sutter have not been paying attention to the last 11 games. His line has been just as important to the Canuck's success as the Horvat line... the two lines are very similar... with one leaning a little more to offense, (Horvat) and the other leaning a little more defense. (Sutter) But both play 200 ft games and both can dominate their matchups. These are the top two lines on the team. There is only one line whose players should at all be considered for the topic of trade discussion and that is the Vanek/Gagner/Burmistrov line... and Vanek should be excluded.... And of course the Sedins are untouchable for contract reasons.
  13. [Rumour] Oilers looking for scoring on the wing

Jesse Puljujarvi has the potential to be a real catch if there is some way Benning can spring him loose from Edmonton in exchange for some scoring help for them... yeah supposedly you don't deal within the division, but Edmonton is not going to rise or fall based on one trade. This kid was just a notch below Patrick Laine in the Elite Finnish league... in fact in some tournaments he outplayed him. He has good size, 6' 4", 203 lbs, great acceleration and speed, and great hands for dishing off pucks and also for shooting. He was completely mis-handled by the Coilers last year... they thought he was Laine #2, but he was younger and less ready... they should either have left him in Finland for another year or put him in the AHL. Now he has lost his confidence and is reportedly homesick. What he needs is patience and positive attention... and a change of scenery. If there is anyway the Canucks could acquire him... I think Benning should seriously think about trying to offload Eriksson... who will never deliver on the contract Canucks gave him... worthwhile even if the Canucks eat part of the salary. The other options could be a package which includes any one of Burmistrov or Gagner plus some plug. Puljujarvi is a real prospect and someone who is worth taking a shot for.
  14. [Rumour] Oilers looking for scoring on the wing

If there is anyway the Canucks could dump Eriksson and his salary on Edmonchuck and get Poolparty in return, Benning should jump on it.
