  1. So, 3.7 was based on simply appearing in 10 regular season games. The remaining 500K is paltry compared to this.
  2. If we send him to Utica we only get 925K of cap room. New CBA rules regarding demoting players. If we aren't going to play him, we need to trade him to get him off our books.
  3. If that knee took a toll that bad, then he has to find a different way to play. Or get out of the game. (I am not totally heartless here, easier said than done, and there are some 9 million dollars on the line over 2 years) But from a team perspective it is very true. He needs to produce, and if that can't be offensively, then it has to be defensively, and consistently.
  4. I Read the thread before posting, this has kind of been answered. He has been given a shot to earn his way back into the lineup. He simply hasn't earned his way back in. I think David Booth is a guy who had a banner year (31g 29a 60p) and signed a contract based on that year with a team that makes poor decisions. This is the same team that over signed Ballard BTW. He has never reproduced those numbers, and never will short of being gifted a first line spot. We got him hoping that he would regain his form, but it was a mistake on our part. He is a 1-2m utility player.
  5. So, this is a lot of exactly what the team does not need. And if Tortorella becomes the coach, he has to realize it. First of all, there is no country club mentality. It's not a country club mentality when your playing constantly hurt. http://www.legendsof...sp?player=14613 I attribute this to the coach. Wanna see more injuries? Have Daniel and Henrik blocking shots on a PK. The idea is stupid. They are not the problem, and have never been. I ranted about that on other threads. What we need is a good 3rd and 4th line that can kill penalties. BTW, not all 1st line players kill penalties. I am not going to go through 30 rosters, but anyone who watches hockey understands this. Their point production in the playoffs was not the problem. Lack of secondary scoring was. I do agree with Torts and the media. I would have liked to see a little push back. Truth is, not of the mouthy kind, but rather "if you don't stop asking stupid questions, I'll stop doing interviews". The mouthy kind is entertaining, and it soothes the wounded ego and temper, but it doesn't stop the stupid questions. End the interviews. Kick the media out of the room. A little more Zetterburg and McGuire would stop the idiocy. These guys love Tortorella. He is not going to have them shaking in their boots, he is going to have them lined up for more. Reporters could care less what you think of them, it's a little like telling a used car saleman he is sleazy. He knows he is sleazy, but as long as you buy a car, he doesn't give a rip what you think of him. You go on to say if players don't like Tortorellas actions they can be shipped out. What you meant to say is if they don't agree with your actions. Let's face it, none of us agree with every decision any coach makes, and if you piss and moan about AV, your gonna piss and moan about JT. Or Stevens, or Ruff, or Boucher, or Martin or whoever. True dat. What makes anyone think we need more yelling? We had Crawford, how come it didn't work for him? We had Iron Mike Keenan before hime, and it didn't work. Truth is, when we got rid of the pompous, yelling, tightfisted leaders we had for almost 20 years, we made it to game 7. We were there in 82 with Renney, again in 94 with Quinn, and then after 20 years of screaming coaches, again in 2011 with Vigneault. So what on earth makes anyone think we need to set the team back 20 years in coaching? I am not saying Tortorella is the wrong guy, I am responding to the post. Now, let's be fair. No General enters the true battlefield. And no General tells each man what his individual duty is. Yet, coaches including AV draw up set plays that include EXACTLY where you stand, which direction you face, which way to go based on which way your assigned man goes, which way your skates point, which way your stick points, and what to do if things do not go according to plan. What did you think he meant by the word "system" or "process" every time he was interviewed? So your illustration is dramatic, but incorrect. I see it is your first post, so I am not trying to be too hard on you, but I have seen a lot of these posts lately. Maybe Torts is the right guy, but lets not get the idea that simply yelling at experienced players is going to win a cup.
  6. Bump.
  7. Gotta bump it again, lol This thread is epic, some of the greatest and most mindless battles of wits have gone on in this thread, some of which I have participated in. I will elave it to you to determine if my contribution was great or mindless, or perhaps a bit of both. Of course, the thread is getting low on the board because of Free Agent Frenzy, AND because while we may have plans to trade Lou, we have NO plans to trade KB3. Here's to another season of being in the top 15 scoring defencemen in the league. (and one of the grittier, lol)
  8. Bump. didn't want to lose the thread. BTW, to all the Bieksa haters out there , great article here http://forum.canucks.com/topic/331457-article-hamhuis-bieksa-and-heavy-lifting/ Haters gonna hate.
  9. Bump. Can't lose the thread. lol
  10. I have been out of town. Glad to notice you prefer a large sample group for determining a players worth as opposed to say, 1 good season. Edit: Wait a second, I just checked Ehrhoffs last 6 years of playoff history. According to your reasoning, he is a bust in the playoffs, just check the last 6 years of his underachievement. -12 career NHL, -21 career NHL and AHL combined, and if it wasn't for Edler packing him last year, he would only have 22 points in 73 games. I sure appreciate using a larger sample group Canuckelion.
  11. by Contrast Christian Ehrhoff 37gp 3g 14a 17p -11 Or, maybe more like: Shea Weber 35gp 8g 21a 29p +14 Ryan Suter 39gp 5g 19a 24p +9 Brent Seabrook 35gp 2g 11a 13p +10 Niklas Lidstrom 39gp 8g 15a 23p +17 Huh. Who's Bieksa more like?
  12. Bump Bieksa was +3 tonight. (+5 for the season, +14 in his last 15 games) For comparison Ehrhoff was -2 tonight (-8 for the season, -4 in his last 15 games)
  13. Its accurate http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.htm?season=20112012&gameType=2&team=VAN&position=S&country=&status=&viewName=summary#?navid=nav-sts-indiv http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.htm?season=20112012&gameType=2&team=BUF&position=S&country=&status=&viewName=summary#?navid=nav-sts-indiv Just click the links
  14. Not true. Ehrhoff's stats in the playoffs are abysmal career wise. His NHL total is (over 6 seasons) 73 games, 7 goals, 27 assists, 34 points, -12 rating Bieksa's are (over 4 seasons) 56 games, 8 goals, 15 assists, 23 points, +10 rating Projected, same amount of games, Bieksa would be 10 goals, 20 assists, 30 points, +13
  15. You missed this post TEE Ehrhoff is struggling right now. Why do you think he would not be struggling here?
