  1. I think he is not under rated more so that under valued and under appreciated by many in this fan base. I think the majority of people here want him to become a player he isn't. He will never be the flashy, high point producing center that peole claim he should live up to or become a bust. If he can be a 50 point player on average throughout his career as a 2nd line center with defensive shutdown ability then we're going to have a very solid player for the next 10+ years to build a new core around. It's going to be a mistake to send him back down to junior this year. He's got nothing to learn about defense down there and his offensive skillls translate better to the NHL style of play and systems scheme.
  2. He's too average at everything. It's a shame his shot can't hit the net
  3. Not really. as mentioned earlier in this thread, there are stats that show its extremely unlikely that Jensen ever becomes a NHL player let alone a top 6 scoring forward. Maybe it changes if he has a strong 2nd half to the season but I'm not holding my breathe considering the inconsistency that has plagued his career so far.
  4. 2 games and everyone forgets the rest of his season. Its classic Canucks fans being delusional about prospects. Let him do this for 15-20 games because that's what really be telling. All you guys ripping me only have these 2 games to go by lol. Common use some common sense. Really your argument about my opinion of Jensen is based off of two games this weekend? Doesn't discredit a single point I made about Jensen. All or does it show how all of you are grasping at straws trying to back Jensen up. 2 games isn't enough guys. Come call me out when he does this for 15-20 games consistently
  5. lol he scores 2 goals and all of a sudden we just forget his horrendous season? Let him show some consistency before u start singing top 6 potential. Only on CDC lol Seriously all this top 6 talk cause he scored 2 goals? Lolol
  6. Fans can only go by results and not make up things like "he works hard" because we are not there to witness it. This goes for prospects that we don't get to see on game to game basis. To me working hard would be to improve on other aspects of your game that need more improvement. Since he's not providing offense all, you would hope he works on his defensive game but it looks like that's still in terrible shape if he's gettin benched for large portions of the 3rd. Work ethic and consistency is something that has dogged Jensen for some time. Remember in preseason when john torterella was asked a question about Jensen he repsonded with "who?" This kid doesn't make strong impressions when he's put in good opportunities. Shame
  7. It really will be interesting to see the infusion of young kids next year of fox, gaunce and shinkaruk to see if they start off strong. If Jensen continues the struggles which is most likely since he's played a handful of games at the AHL level and has not been progressing, it will be interesting to see if he gets written off by management and demoted to echl. As early as next year we might see a mutual agreement I contract termination as he bolts off to Europe like Rodin has done after his elc?
  8. Kids seems to have a weak mental fortitude for the NHL pro hockey. When you're doing as bad a he probably means he's not cut out for the mental toughness of the NHL. Doesn't add grit, defensive play, offense... Just what is he good at? Offensively he has only that one move where he cuts in and tries to shoot. Only thing he tried to do in young star tourney and preseason before getting hurt
  9. He should have stayed another year in the OHL. Funny how he thought he was too good for juniors when he couldn`t even dominate it in his draft +1 year in juniors. CHL is the best development league in the world for people who want to play in the NHL This kid is mentally weak
  10. Good experience for Horvat and he was one of the better team canada forwards on a pretty poor roster. Hope he takes away from the tourny, gets mad about it and improves himself even more. Horvat and Ekblad played like NHL players, a lot of individuality on TC roster with too many people trying to do everything themselves and had poor structure to their game.
  11. Thanks for the update. People need to stop wasting their time defending this guy. Quite clear he's got huge bust potential and likelihood. It's better to lower your expectations of him before you all get upset later and turn on him like you guys usually do. Right now he's like a newly wed spouse, and right now you're starting to see all his/her faults but too scared to admit you made a mistake in choosing the love of your life. Before things get ugly around here just lower your expectations because his play right now is showing he is going to amount to nothing.
  12. If he wasn't a 1st round pick he would have been burried down in the echl a long time ago. Right now Gillis is probably trying to save a little face and avoid admitting he's been pretty terrible at drafting players even though he's put so much money into scouting and development.
  13. We should try and package him in a trade before the deadline before his stock plummets into pennies
  14. Strong 2 way game today. His line is the best team canada line at 5 on 5 hockey by far
  15. He surpasses Jensen easily on the prospect depth chart. This kid actually looks like he can actually become a solid bottom 6 NHLer. He did we'll during his time on the big club too
