  1. SIGNING: The Anaheim Ducks have signed defenseman Andrew Alberts to a 2-year, $3 million contract ($1.5 million per season).
  2. Open Letter from the Commissioner Over the past couple months, I haven't been around much here. Life for me has changed a lot since I first started the Fantasy GM Pool, and so I simply no longer have the time to put in the amount of time to this league then I would like. I've done my best to make time, but it's been extremely tough. Now I know that I shouldn't be relying on excuses to justify my absence - guys like canuck2xtreme still manage to find the time to put a tremendous amount of detail into their respective pools, and while I've been trying my best to do the same, it simply hasn't worked out quite the way I'd like it to. Many GMs here have been waiting patiently over the course of the past month and a half for player signings to take place, among other things, and I appreciate that patience. Some of you have grown impatient to see progress made here, and rightfully so. For this, as well as my extended absences, I sincerely apologize. I love doing this, but I simply haven't been able to balance reality with fantasy hockey to the extent that I originally envisioned myself doing. I don't want to see this league become abandoned and collapse like many before it - I've put in a tremendous amount of work to get the league up and running, and don't want to see it go to waste. Not to mention that each GM here expected a higher-quality experience then what has been delivered thus far, which is largely my fault. The good thing is, I am working on solutions to these problems. I will be looking for a potential co-commissioner over the next few days, and hopefully I will find a suitable candidate that can help shoulder the load of duties that I currently have. I truly hope that we can keep this league running smoothly and successfully, and will do my best to ensure that that happens. However, some discussion and trading activity here would definitely help keep things interesting and exciting - you're all welcome to post and discuss anything hockey-related here, so take advantage of that! Thanks for reading, and good luck to everyone. Sincerely, -Canuckk
  3. SIGNING: The Colorado Avalanche have signed defenseman Matt Taormina to a 3-year ELC worth $1.2 million per season.
  4. Getting to it. All caught up on IR transactions now. Again, if anyone has concerns about their roster or if I missed something, just let me know.
  5. SIGNING: The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom to a 3 year, $15 million contract with a NMC in year 1, and a NTC in year 2 of the contract. (signing retroactive to November 7th)
  6. I'm going to try and catch up on everything I've missed today. I've got some big announcements about my involvement in the league as well... stay tuned. You can't just 'join' the league and take a new team at this point - we're well into the season already and don't have the demand for expansion just yet. You're welcome to contact other GMs to see if you can co-GM with them though.
  7. SIGNING: The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Brett Connolly to a 3-year ELC worth $1.5 million per season.
  8. SIGNINGS: The San Jose Sharks have signed rookie Nino Neiderreiter to a 3-year ELC worth $1.8 million per season, and Alexander Burmistrov to a 3-year ELC worth $1.6 million per season. (both contracts are backdated to October 25th, when the contracts were originally agreed upon)
  9. LTIR: The Tampa Bay Lightning would like to place Dion Phaneuf on LTIR. RECALL: The Tampa Bay Lightning would like to recall Matthieu Perreault and Nathan Gerbe from the minors.
  10. I backdated it to when you posted it, so you'll get his points from then. Sorry, I'm getting to it, but I've been much busier then I originally anticipated when I started this pool. I'm doing my best to manage my time and keep working on this pool, but it's been tough. I don't want to abandon the pool or anything, as I enjoy doing this, but it's looking more and more like I simply won't have the time to keep up with it all myself. I will be looking into options to share the workload so things keep running smoothly. Again, I apologize for all the delays and everything, and I'll be trying my best to continue with announcing more signings and continuing negotiations over the next few days.
  11. Yes, I'm getting to them tomorrow and Monday. I've had a ridiculously busy week with 5 midterms and 3 interviews on the same week, and I will be fairly busy tomorrow, but I should have time to get to it, along with any roster moves I may have missed (I can backdate these, so don't worry about that). Sorry for the absence. On the plus side, Tampa is off to a fantastic start despite missing Streit due to injury and being unable to ice a full 23-man roster due to cap constraints. Still looking to shed cap in any reasonable way possible!
  12. Ah I see what you mean now. I guess I just made a typo there. On the actual Pick-up Hockey site, it's correct though.
  13. Again, not sure what you mean. For me it shows that both forwards and defensemen get 2 points for a +1, and -2 points for a -1.
  14. They get 2 points for a +1... Not sure what you're talking about.
