  1. I don't mind if we trade him. But not for a bag of pucks. If we get something in return and not a draft pick but a good defenseman prospect that would be ok. I just hate giving our first rounders away especially when we haven't given him a full season.
  2. Exactly my point. He had a full season to find his feet and prove himself. Thanks for that. Playing on the first and second line can do that for an offensive player.
  3. Fickle fan, Um Andy Mcdonald 5'8" 183 pounds. You are clasping at straws. I listed smaller players to prove stanley cup winners have smaller players. There are players on that list that play more agressive than their size and others that don't. One hundred and eighty pounds at 5'9" is a solid kid. I sure as his career goes on he will get better in the corners and be more physical as time goes on. I mean heck even the Sedins have learned to do both.
  4. Fickle, Some of you Canuck fans said the same thing about the Sedin's. Twenty seven games with a bad coach is not enough time I am sorry. Have you heard of the concept of learning?
  5. Those stats look depressing
  6. Yeah I know. This is I have been trying to get across to these eggheads that want to brush JS aside. What makes things worse is our first line points wise is not a good second line in the nhl last year. We are in trouble. I really don't what else to say other than seems some canuck fans tend to overvalue players proven to not have talent and undervalue other one's that actually do. I just hope the canuck management are smarter than these eggheads.
  7. If that happened you would convenienty forget you posted all of this. Cause he would be tearing it up on another team a few years from now. I am right, you are wrong and that is all there is to it, infinity times infinity no erasies! There is no use arguing with someone who is always right.
  8. Buddy, my point is he needs to be given a full opportunity not to prove himself but for he Cancucks to see what he has and make a full assessment before giving up on this prospect. There clearly have been some extenuating circumstances to clearly see what we got here. Kinda like an archeologist distinguishing a find. Slowly brushing away the dust to see what the discovery is. My point is we have barely scratched the surface and some egg heads come on here and say get rid of him. I would feel better about that if we actually had something on our second line before we so eloquently brush him aside. I have been impressed with his speed and 200 foot game. I admit I have not seen him so much to much this year; although, I do understand the whole team struggled. Which in my assessment is not a good indicator either to assess what we have as a player here. This all being said you are obviously another fickle canuck fan. Sad but true.
  9. Will agree with 2 of 3 but not Draisaitl. 18 years old more of a gamble than Schroeder for this year. Not likely NHL Ready. Also Draisailt is a slower skater. Like Gaunce might be a bit of a project. Anyone you draft you can't expect them to just step in to the NHL. It is rare to happen and I would hope we would not draft with that in mind. Try harder.
  10. ....you are wrong. That is all.
  11. A team that has a good second line points wise are as follows: LW 42 Points RW 45 Points C 53 Points Out team outside our first line career highs are as follows: Higgins LW 43 points and 52 points accomplished 2 out of nine seasons Booth LW 60 points accomplished once in 1 out of 8 seasons Kassian RW 29 points highest total Richardson RW/C 27 points highest total Hansen RW 39 points highest total in 6 seasons Santorelli C 41 points highest in 5 seasons Matthias C 24 points highest in 5 seasons I am sorry to all you fickle Canuck fans out there but we just don't have the skill. So Schroeder is here to stay at least one year cause of his skill.
  12. Actually torts by seasons end played him under 10 mins a game and then down to 3 mins and then press box. Because he was not suited for the game he wanted the Canucks to play. I hate to break the obvious to you; but, the entire team was not suited for the way Torts wanted them to play. If you throw Schroeder under the bus then you have to throw the rest of the team under the bus. Bottom line: cut the kid some slack he played for a horrible coach. People were not saying the same thing when he played for AV. Cut the kid some slack he has not been given a chance to play a full year with some good players. HE WAS INJURED THE PAST 2 YEARS. He has not gotten into top form and this year he has the summer to get ready, God willing he starts the season and does not get injured so we can truly see what we have. For goodness sakes this is driving me crazy, can't people see it.... we have nothing else.....the players we have are good third liners and not good second liners, and the numbers prove it. And the prospects we have are most likely not ready. WE HAVE NOTHING ELSE, WE HAVE NOTHING ELSE....CAUSE WE SUCK...DIDN'T YOU WATCH THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON....DID YOU NOTICE WE DID NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS CAUSE WE SUCK. I cannot understand how some of you Canuck fans think we can magically find three second line players. Kesler will be gone and we will have 3 2nd line positions to fill. And if you think we can resign Santorelli and move up Higgins you have to take a closer look at other teams in the league and see we don't match up. And the numbers prove it: we would be average at best.
  13. Schroeder is nothing like Patrick White. The major difference is the kid was a highschool pick or something like that and plainly just a bad pick and Schroeder was the highest scoring american bord world junior player in their history. The upsides are totally different. And white never improved in college, he never progressed and we knew he was a bust before he left college.
  14. Let's take look of all the first round players we traded away that went on to have NHL careers. Cam Neely 9th overall 13 seasons JJ Daignauelt 10th overall 17 seasons Bryan Allen 4rth overall 15 seasons and counting Rj Umberger 16th overall 10 seasons and counting Cory Schneider 26th overall 6 seasons and counting Michael Grabner 14th overall 5 seasons and counting Cody Hodgson 10th overall 4 seasons and counting Jordan Schroeder ?????
  15. He did make the team the last two years. He suffered from injuries. I do not know how much more plain I and other guys in this forum can be about this. I do seem to remember this very thing happening with Cody Hodgson. People said he is too slow. I wonder were you one of those fickle fans that thought we should get rid of him? I seem to remember people not giving respect to him either. I am sorry half a season in the Nhl is not enough especially given we do not have any better options other than what we already know is mediocre.
  16. Whatever. That being said I agree we need to give him ice time this year. If we do and Benning/Linden decide they don't want this type of player as their second line center at least it gives us another year for our prospects like Gaunce and Horvat etc. to get ready for the nhl. Then we can actually get something for him or maybe he proves some people wrong like small players have a pension to do and prove he is a keeper. And I will reiterate: what we currently have in our lineup have reached their ceiling as third line players. The only guys that might be able to crack the line up imo are Kassian and Jensen on the second line. I do find that doubtfull. There is no one established for our second line. Or one of the young guys is ahead of schedule and tears it up unexpectedly. This is why we can try out Schroeder, cause we don't have anything else unless of course through a Kesler trade (in which reports are saying he will be traded this summer) we get a player(s) coming back the other way more established. But as it stands he is our best option and a necessary risk.
  17. 2004 Tampa Bay - Martin St. Loius 2005 Nhl Lockout 2006 Carolina Hurricanes - Chad Larose, Mark Recchi, Keith Aucoin, Ray Whitney 2007 Anahaim Ducks - Todd Marchant, Andy Mcdonald, Ryan Shannon 2008 Detroit Redwings - Kris Draper, Jiri Huddler, Brent Lebda, Bryan Rafalski 2009 Pittsburg Penguins - 7 guys 5'11 2010 Chicago Black Hawks - Bryan Campbell, Andrew Ebbett 2011 Boston Bruins - Mark Recchi, Brad Marchand 2012 Los Angeles Kings - Andre Loktionov 2013 Chicago Black Hawks - Andrew Shaw There you go.
  18. Seriously, can you tell me what is different from JS and other players in the league? You seem to be saying because he is small he cannot play for our team. Do you realize there are other players smaller than him and about the same size on contending teams? There is no conundrum. We have to play him for a season to see what we have. Like I said in an earlier post why would any GM worth their salt take a guy who was drated 5 years ago in the first round of this young man's ilk; who has been been injured the last two seasons; who has played barely over half of a season; who played well under AV and cast him off, again, after waiting five years. To me that sounds like a perfect recipe for other GM's to grab on to. You are a fickle Canuck fan.
  19. And what exactly is your point. Wow!
  20. It doesn't have to be a million. We can sign him to 600k.
  21. Oh wow someone in the playoffs smaller than JS scored the game winner in game 5 of the stanley cup finals. Hmm but It must not count cause he is too small.
