  1. They can take a "serious run" at Iginla, but why would he leave the only team he's ever known, go to a contender, then come to a team who's on a rebuild? Whoever this source is, he's a joke.
  2. Miller should go to Edmonton and help that team make the playoffs. That's how much I don't want him here. I would love Hiller though. Trade Markstrom for another prospect at a different position and have Lack as the backup. Works for me.
  3. Saiyonara Booth. Great guy but never fit in here.
  4. Would Garrison + 6th overall be enough to acquire the 1st overall from Florida?
  5. Keep Burrows and get rid of Torts? Fair deal imo.
  6. And Lucic is surprised people want to do things to him like what happened downtown a few months back?
  7. Lucic deserves it. He's a piece of you know what. Marchand as well. I don't lump Bergeron and a couple others in with the other scum.
  8. I wonder how John Tortorella feels right now knowing this news broke early.
  9. Not sure what to make of this yet. I admire Torts' passion and how he stuck up for the team during tricky times this year. On the other hand, players never seemed to resonate with him. I will say this though, I have zero interest of bringing in Barry Trotz.
  10. I'm hoping Bray Wyatt will be the catalyst for Cena turning heel. I know it's unlikely, but one can dream. Cena is so boring.
  11. Size doesn't matter as much as skill, I agree. However, when you can find players with both, especially when this team plays in a conference with big skilled players, it's just silly to draft smaller skilled players who will get eaten alive.
  12. Ehlers' frame is so small, even compared to someone like William Nylander. Ehlers would get eaten alive in the Pacfic Division. We need one of Virtanen, Ritchie or Perlini.
  13. Just take him at 6th overall. Unless we win the lottery of course.
  14. I see what you're saying, but Horvat and Jensen are nowhere near the size or skill that Perry and Getzlaf each possess. Kassian has size, but he can't be compared to Anaheim's big two until he has a breakout season. I'm not disagreeing with a need for smaller skilled players, but I think we already have that in Shinkaruk, Fox and company. Drafting Ehlers would be a little redundant when we already have similar players in the system. We cannot afford to pass up on one of the big three power forward kids in this top 10.
  15. Ehlers would get eaten alive in the Pacific division. Try for Virtanen, Ritchie, then Perlini in that order.
  16. Sure. Here's a few more I just finished as well as Kapanen's: Kasperi Kapanen - 6'0'', 180 - LW - KalPa (SM-liiga) + Elite puck handling skills, creative hands + Great hockey sense, vision and playmaking ability + High end foot speed with great lateral movement - Shot needs added velocity - Game lacks physicality Note: Logged big minutes playing alongside his father, former NHL'er Sami Kapanen for KalPa. William Nylander - 5'11'', 175 - C/LW - Sodertalje (SHL) + Quick skater with elite stickhandling ability, difficult to check + Shows exceptional poise, plays an intelligent game + Able to distribute the puck exceptionally - Defensive play needs work - Sometimes tends to hold onto the puck for too long Note: Actually born in Calgary, AB, he is the son of former NHL'er Michael Nylander. Haydn Fleury - 6'2'', 204 - D - Red Deer Rebels (WHL) + Able to make huge timely hits + Logs big shutdown minutes + Plays physical, can skate well + Not afraid to carry the puck up ice - Offensive game not exceptional Note: Is a vital leader on his team in Red Deer. Plays against the opponents top lines on a nightly basis. Jared McCann - 6'0'', 180 - C - Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL) + High level hockey sense, great vision + Great in the faceoff circle + Sound defensive game at young age - Needs to put on a bit more weight to improve physical game Note: Regarded as a character leader type player. Was drafted 4th overall in 2012 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
  17. So as of right now, the Canucks can draft no worse than 11th overall, but no higher than 6th. This is assuming that all of the pieces fall into place (ie: losing the final two games of the season, and all other games we need other teams to lose/win actually happen). I took the time to come up with a brief scouting report highlighting the positives and negatives of 4 players that could fall around our draft position (7th as of right now). The following notes are designed to help introduce posters here to what these kids can offer. Jake Virtanen - 6'1'', 190 - C/LW - Calgary Hitmen (WHL) + Great speed for his size + Hard, accurate shot + Pure, elite power forward, plays with physical edge - Needs to utilize teammates better - Defensive game can still be worked on - Physicality needs more consistency Note: Won the 30m sprint (both forward and backward) at the CHL Top Prospects game Nikolaj Ehlers - 5'11'', 165 - LW - Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL) + Elite playmaking ability + Blazing speed and agility + Great hockey IQ - Viewed by some as possible complimentary player, not go-to-guy - Needs to put on more weight Note: Has high work ethic and an unselfish style of play. First on the ice and last to leave kind of guy. Nick Ritchie - 6'2'', 230 - RW - Peterborough Petes (OHL) + Huge body, great strength + Skates well for a big player + Impressive shot - Battled frequent injuries in his career - Needs to work on consistency Note: Ritchie had a 6 point game (5g, 1a) back on Feb 7th against the Niagra Ice Dogs. Brendan Perlini - 6'3'', 205 - LW - Niagra Ice Dogs (OHL) + Excellent combination of size and speed + Great vision, shot and ability to maintain possession + Does anything to score - Needs to use size better, more frequently - Defensize play can be improved Note: Considered by some as a Jeff Carter/Max Pacioretty hybrid. Big body, great speed.
  18. Get Virtanen. If that doesn't work, try for Ritchie or Perlini.
  19. I highly doubt Punk is coming back at all before his contract expires in July. I believe Vince has talked to him to convince him to come back, but the last I read was that after Punk didn't show up in Chicago for Raw a few weeks back to formally say goodbye, he made a lot of important people in the company mad.
  20. I wish I was a goalie so I could have a cool mask with my name on it...
  21. "Your so dumb" ? It's "you're" by the way. You may want to check your grammar a little more carefully before you start throwing insults around.
  22. I know it's not as "sexy" as trading Kesler to Anaheim for the 1st they got from Ottawa, but as of right now Detroit is drafting 13th overall. Detroit being in the Eastern Conference now opens up the possibility of becoming trade partners. Not only is Kesler from Michigan, but if Detroit was willing to give up a package for Kes that included that 1st round pick the Canucks could still draft high enough to pick someone good.
