      Myers at closer to 2M is a lot better than Myers at 6M, his play would be closer to his cap hit. Myers does do some good things, he skates well, he brings a size and pushback element, and the puck isn't a grenade on his stick. He's also a known quantity. I would be open to bringing him back for 1-2 years at a lower cost. 

       

      Plus, it'd be funny.

      He’s not physical enough because he unfairly gets penalties based on his size. 
       

      I’m also tired of him making snow angels out there.

       

      The Canucks will have cheaper, if not better options.

      what is your proposal for getting cap compliant and bringing in players that are harder to play against? hronek, pettersson's new contracts, where does all that cap space come from? myers' contract will look after hronek's new deal, where can we cut to build a cup contender?

      Being patient, overhauling the team was always going to take more than a couple offseasons. If Garland costs too much to move or can't be moved in a lateral trade move out Beauvillier, he's much less commitment on a one year deal and probably wouldn't cost as much to move. 

       

      We aren't contending next season anyway, there's really no rush. Given how the past decade has gone even our being in the mix for a playoff spot most of the season would be considered a step forward. It may be that we have to wait for the cap to rise more significantly in order to be able to move out cap.

    Silovs may just be our heir apparent as far as starting goalie goes, if he shows well over the next couple seasons maybe he'll make Demko expendable

      Oh no, opening some of us cap space would absolutely be an asset. I've never believed he lined up with our timeline. That's cap that could be reallocated to our defense, or somewhere else on the roster. 

       

      We've seen moreso over the last couple seasons than ever that cap space in itself is an asset.

      I've been trying to figure out our cap situation next year if we keep JT, Boeser, Garland, Myers, etc...  

       

      I have us at 80 million even with everyone back next year, and a 24 man roster that includes Poolman on LTIR.  That leaves us with 3.5 million in cap space.

      You need cap space to take advantage of that.

      LTIR is not real cap space.

      We have to start dumping salaries.

      We also don't have a lot of room on total contracts.

      If we can move Boeser or Garland, and move Myers in the offseason.

      Then we can be well placed next year.
