  1. McAvoy looked like the real deal during the World Juniors, pumped to see what he can do in the playoffs. My return for Price ended up being; Jonathan Bernier - 150 points Brandon Saad - 77 points Charlie McAvoy (flipped Virtanen for McAvoy) Carey Price - 140
  2. New York Rangers playoff roster Forwards: Phil Kessel (PIT) Brandon Saad (CBJ) Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM) Chris Kunitz (PIT) Patric Hornqvist (PIT) Calle Jankrok (NSH) Nate Thompson (ANA) Andrew Desjardins (CHI) Nikita Soshnikov (TOR) Michael MacCarron (MTL) Defence: Dougie Hamilton (CGY) Matt Niskanen (WSH) Dennis Wideman (CGY) Jake Muzzin (LAK) Brayden McNabb (LAK) Mark Borowiecki (OTT) David Warsofsky (PIT) Goalies: Matt Murray (PIT) Jonathan Bernier (ANA) 'Black Aces': Steve Olesky (TOR) Malcolm Subban (BOS)
  3. Jumped from 25th to 7th
  4. @Nail I should be under the cap with the salary that was retained from Thompson's contact.
  5. The New York Rangers send down Michael McCarron (no waivers) @Nail
  6. The first move I made as a General Manager in the CDCFL was select Carey Price during the fantasy draft. The past 4 years Carey has lead the team to place consistently in the top ten of the standings, with the exception of the 2015/2016 season in which Price was injured. I have zero regrets about drafting Carey and really appreciate the value he brought to my team. Unfortunately, today we had to part ways. With a new team joining the league this off-season, it brings the risk of losing players. Given the structure of the expansion draft rules, I couldn't protect both my goalies, Carey Price and Matt Murray, so I was forced to make a decision. It was not easy but I believe Murray is the better option with my team in mind. He is young, 22, and is on a perennial playoff contending team. Price is about to enter into his 30's and he has one year left on his deal, before becoming a UFA. I like to think that I negotiate a fair deal with Murray that will be more affordable than what I would have to pay for Price. With young players such as Patrik Laine, Mikko Rantanen, Mike Matheson and Nikita Soshnikov all enjoying productive rookie seasons, I think youth may better serve this core. Matt Murray is my guy long term. While it may be less of a return of what I anticipated, it is nothing to slouch at. Brandon Saad has posted back-to-back 50 point seasons, and is set to repeat that again this year. He already has a Stanely Cup ring to his resume and is on one of the NHL's hottest teams this year. Saad is just 24 years old and has another 2 years on his contract before becoming a RFA. Ideally, he will offset the point production Price is leaving behind. Jake Virtanen is the wildcard. He has struggled to adapt to the pro game and has just 9 points in 35 AHL games this year. At just 20 years old, the kid has plenty of time to develop. With a rich group of forwards, we are in no need to see him be rushed into the NHL and want to see the Canucks develop Jake patiently. He was drafted 6th overall for a reason and hope that big upside will be realized at the next level. Finally, Jonathan Bernier is a former number 1 goalie that seems to has lost his way. He is the final piece in the return package for Price. As a backup for Anaheim, Bernier has played in 21 games this season. This pending UFA will audition for a job next season. Goaltenders value is tough to gauge, as it all depends on the buyers market. Currently teams are hesitant to make moves in net with the expansion draft coming up and desire to protect certain contracts. We tried to be patient and bring in as many offers as possible, but the buyers just were not there. There was only one team outside of the division that presented a reasonable offer, and it did not help us much long term. I didn't negotiations for our goalies progress between now and the trade deadline. By getting a deal done now, it helps with a clear direction heading into the trade deadline and with contract negotiations. Brandon Saad - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Phil Kessel Gabriel Landeskog - Ryan O'Reilly - Patric Hornqvist Mikko Rantanen - Shawn Matthais - Patrik Laine Rene Bourque - Calle Jarnkrok - Nikita Soshnikov Andrew Desjardins, Michael McCarron Dougie Hamilton - Jake Muzzin Dennis Wideman - Matt Niskanen Brayden McNabb - Mike Matheson Mark Boroweicki Matt Murray Jonathan Bernier Notables not on NHL roster: Joel Eriksson-Ek, Jake Virtanen, Malcolm Subban, Zach Senyshyn, Carter Hart, Samuel Girad, Brandon Hickey
  7. The Rangers send down Greg McKegg (no waivers)
  8. Tough day for Ranger fans. In an ideal world I keep Price and Murray for a playoff run, but that damn expansion scares me. After looking at every option for the past 6 months, this was the best deal I could make. Trading goalies is a fickle market. Update to come.
  9. The New York Rangers send down Andrej Nestrasil (no waivers) and recall Michael McCarron from our AHL team.
  10. Talks starting to heat up around Carey Price/ Matt Murray. Good chance one will be traded prior to the deadline.
  11. The New York Rangers are exploring options to move Carey Price. He has had another great start to the season with 194 pool points (16-3-2, GAA1.80, and SAV%.940). Looking for an elite player in return.
  12. Carey Price: 10-0-1, 1.40(GAA) and 0.957(SAV%) =120 POOL POINTS Matt Murray: 4-0-0, 1.25(GAA) and 0.961(SAV%) =50 POOL POINTS With the upcoming expansion draft I will have to move one of these two goalies. If you are interested in making a major upgrade in net, please PM me. Not in a rush to move one of them yet, simply fielding offers.
  13. The Rangers place Nicklas Grossman on waivers and activate Andrew Desjardins from the IR.
  14. The Rangers send down Ty Rattie and recall Nikita Soshnikov
  15. Roster moves - Rangers place Mason Raymond on waivers, if he clears place in the AHL. - Rangers release Joakim Andersson from his contract (signed with SHL team). - Rangers recall Greg McKegg and Mikko Rantanen from our AHL roster.
