    I’m saying Myers would go to San Jose in 3 team EK deal. We’re not the team taking EK.

    I trust Button when it comes to identifying prospects, not building an NHL playoff team.

    I’m starting to thing that the rumours about San Jose/Myers are true. Maybe we’re a 3rd team for that EK trade and Myers is a stop gap replacement for Karlsson.

    True. If there were any first round picks, then that’s essentially money to attach to a contract that you also want to move on from. If the goal isn’t to acquire draft picks, then make the trade and flip the picks to acquire what you need. If Miller isn’t getting you a Centre prospect, but picks. Flip those picks to another team for a Centre prospect.

    If what’s reported is true, and they turned down multiple picks for Miller, then I really don’t know how this team can ever be a contender.

    It’s the cap issues and draft picks that are the main frustration.

    It’s starting to feel like we’re completely screwed this off-season. Our backs are against the cap and we’ll have lost any leverage we had.

    I think Hronek’s injured and shut down. This may not affect the tank.

    I want to like what we’ve done so far, and up until today I did. Losing those two picks today stings. If we can move a forward or two out before Friday for picks/prospects I’d like the Hronek trade a lot more.

    Carolina has been oddly quiet and given Allvin’s patience lately. They could circle back with everything that’s happened in the East. Lotta big chips are off the table now. We have a couple of the main Forward trade pieces left.

    I don’t mind the trade. Hopefully Beauvillier can rack up some points with Petey and increase his trade value. Only thing of interest right now is picks and prospects. Anyone but Hughes, Petey, Podkolzin and Raty are fair game.

    What a steal for NYR. Gotta think they’ll use at 1st at the deadline for a push in the playoffs.

    Well, to be fair. He’s the fourth string goalie in the Canucks Organization. Which has become one of the better goaltending mines in the NHL. He’s fourth in Clarke’s Hierarchy of things. Probably much higher on some other teams though.

    They call that a Sophomore Slump. Plenty of players go through it. Wouldn’t be in the best interest to trade him, only to watch him perform up to expectation elsewhere..

    If there’s a chance of swinging Miller + Myers to NJD for Severson + picks, then signing Klingberg I could get behind that. But the term with Klingberg would be the key.
