  1. Considering every conservative rag has a link of the survey I am not surprised. The one below had it at 90% yes after 300,000 votes until the trump bots caught wind of it. How else would you explain the turn around? Haven't seen you around here for awhile Harv, were you busy voting? So much winning. http://lunaticoutpost.com/thread-772034-page-2.html
  2. Actually that's almost word for word what Donny Jr. interpreted from his quote, speaking of fools. Why am I not surprised that that is what you remember about it?
  3. Maybe we should consort with the Swedish national defense and security advisor on this one?
  4. One of the reports I was referring to was a UBC study. The reluctance of the government to allow for an independent review of the project, as well as the reluctance to release their own information, is a big red flag for me as well.
  5. From everything I've read on the subject, there doesn't seem to be much of an argument in favour of the dam at all, environmentally or economically. Until I see somthing more concrete and positive, along with allowing an independent review of the project, it's a big no for me.
  6. Regardless of the system in place there will be fish and habitat loss. What's acceptable depends on what side you are on. There are other factors as well. Harmful algae build up caused by the damn, nutrients blocked from the downstream portion, fish caught in the turbines and turbulence, it all factors in to the future of that ecosystem. Comparing that to the loss of crow habitat is silly at best. The Columbia river was decimated by the original dams. An entire strain of Chinook salmon dubbed the June Hogs were killed off. 80lb + salmon capable of reaching far upstream are lost forever. The local sturgeon population took a massive hit too and have never recovered. The same thing happened on the snake river. The giant white sturgeon that used to inhabit the area are all gone. Although the current measures put in place will reduce the impact on the system there will still be an impact, not to mention the ongoing financial burden of the programs. Is the risk worth the reward? Well once again that depends on what side you are on and where you live. I for one am not sold yet.
  7. I think you might be overlooking the impact that dams have on the environment, particularly to migratory and resident fish stocks. The risk is very real and despite any measures that are put in place to prevent it from happening, there are no guarantees and there is no coming back. That being said they have an interesting and unorthodox proposal for the site C dam but it is very costly. No matter what is done there will be substantial harm to the river system. There is no way around it. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/sec.theglobeandmail.com/news/british-columbia/proposed-fish-ladder-at-site-c-dam-called-bizarre-but-is-quite-common/article29582193/%3Fservice%3Damp https://www.nrdc.org/onearth/dam-shame
  8. I will apologize for my part in derailing the thread as well. I just have to remember WWRD sometimes. What would Rupert do?
  9. There was no yelling before the incident in the audio I heard. Actually, it was a very softly spoken question that set him off. Someone already posted the eye witness report and it read more like a choke slam with some punches after for good measure.
  10. ??? Greg Gianforte, the Republican candidate in Montana's special congressional election, has been charged with misdemeanor assault after he allegedly body slammed a reporter and broke his glasses on Wednesday night.
  11. You just made a joke about a victim of assault because it was committed by a republican candidate. How do you not see the hypocrisy in this?
  12. If only your parents had taken that advice, lol.
  13. There's the fake moral outrage we are so accustomed to reading. The joke was about trump supporters being outraged by a man sexually harassing girls given the fact that that is something Trump himself is prone to do, and you know it, so quit with the drama. The outrage from your side was because the man was Syrian. You support a racist, misogynistic, pathological liar. There is no moral high ground for you.
  14. You're morally bankrupt so who cares what you think anyway?
  15. Fake news
