  1. When Benning acquired Baertschi and Grandlind they didn't really have anyone from the farm challenging for a spot so all Benning could do is be patient and hope they turned out but now theres a surplus and neither of them have really solidified their spot as key players in that time. Injuries or not they have both been average and with there being so much hungry talent coming they have to start proving they can elevate their games or be replaced by someone who can. Needless to say, it's going to be a very interesting camp.
  2. I'm in the dry goods side and I typically do 100% or slightly better like 102% but that's because I don't typically go to fast right off the bat. Some people can do 120% daily but they are in the minority. I personally focus on making a good story pallet rather than throwing it together but that's just me.
  3. I currently work at ev logistics and I don't think it's too bad. When I read 120 cases an hour being a hardship I have to assume their system is much different because we get on average an hour and a half to do 260+ cases and it's not that hard. But then again if they are on foot I can see it being difficult since I use a machine to get around.
  4. Hollywood sucks these days

There was a time when I hated old movies, and when I say old movies I mean movies from the 40s, 50s and 60s but I now appreciate them for their story's and characters even if the special effects can be terrible. You can guarantee each year that 99% of the movies released are either garbage or at least watchable with the 1% being actual quality. Mind you, I still love watching movies. Even with the same story being reused over and over again I find them to be a nice distraction from the world.
  5. The fact that we got anything of value is a plus in my opinion. Both players are still young and have yet to be be given a real opportunity to show what they can do. Holm was just a depth defenseman with no nhl experience and Vanek was just an old rental from the beginning so the fact that we got two players with potential should be considered a win
  6. I break down teams into 3 categories going into the deadline: contenders, pretenders and the dwellers. The contenders are the teams that feel they have a legit chance at the cup and are willing to go all out to give themselves the advantage heading into the playoffs. They do not want to subtract from their lineup so picks and prospects are their preferred currency. Regardless if they are deep they know they are sacrificing their future so they are going to make sure they are getting the right players for the high price they will pay. The pretenders are the teams that will likely make the playoffs but know they cant compete with the contenders so they would prefer to deal in roster players that they don't see as apart of their core moving forward. They will only deal picks or prospects if they are getting an immediate upgrade and someone who fits long term. The dwellers are the rebuilding or downright terrible teams thats only focus is on the draft and foreseeable future. Picks and prospects are like gold to these teams and roster players are available at a surplus which makes every other selling teams assets worth less. Now obviously we all know which category the Canucks fall under and given the number of teams deciding to tank, the market was saturated with better players than what the Canucks had to offer. The only teams willing to overpay are the contenders but in order to get those overpayments you need to have the most sought after assets which the canucks didn't have.
  7. Rate The Last Movie You Saw - 2

Just saw it yesterday and I'll give it a solid 7 out of 10. Visually it's very impressive and even though im not African or black I can appreciate the culture they incorporated into the universe. The few negatives I have revolves around the story being somewhat simplistic and not a whole lot of characterization. The action is good but fairly standard for a marvel movie and of course theres enough comedy to keep the mood light. Overall I'd say it's one of the better marvel movies that been made.
  8. Is Global War Fast Approaching?

I don't fear what I cannot control. If the powers that be want to start a nuclear war then what can a single insignificant person such as myself do to stop them? Nothing. I hope to go out in the first blast in that case because the idea of living in an apocalyptic world is more scarier than the war itself.
  9. I agree in trading a player if the price is right but you also dont want to scare off potential free agents by trading away all of your recent multi year signings. Players are human beings too. I'm sure when they sign a multi year deal they would prefer to play it out and not have to relocate the family every year.
  10. Adam Gaudette | #88 | C

The debate to wether he's a top six or not is pointless in my opinion because he has the potential to be a factor even when not scoring. Goldobin is a prime example that without work ethic pure skill is not enough. If Gaudette can come in a be a great two way player while chipping in a few goals here and there then he would already surpass expectations for a 5th rounder. Becoming a top top six is just the cherry on top.
  11. I worked for Tim Hortons for 2.5 years and I only got one unpaid 30min break and never actually received my benefits. I'm frankly surprised they got coffee breaks.
  12. Rate The Last Movie You Saw - 2

I guess I'm in the minority because I liked the last Jedi. It wasn't a masterpiece and it didn't answer the questions from awakens but then again it would have been lazy to make Ren a Skywalker or a Solo. The whole point of the movie was to transition from one generation to another, was it done perfectly? No but I think it was for the best.
  13. Regardless of what any player brings it all comes down to what the other team is willing to give. If Toronto or Montreal or whoever is interested in Gudbranson is willing to overpay then he's traded but if not then you resign him. He brings an element that the team desperately needs and it's not like we have an abundance of the kind of player he is in the system.
  14. William Lockwood | RW

I admit I don't watch him play and rely on the the information if others but from what I've heard he sounds like a Hansen 2.0 in the making. He's not a big player but has top end speed, grit, tenacity and decent hands. I don't know if he's as good defensively as Hansen but that's not a bad player to become if he makes it.
