  1. I bet he only hits 10 if gets some special team play...maybe PK?
  2. And really, who cares if we burn a year off his ELC, it's not like he's projected to be a prolific scorer and will end up burning us on his next contract.
  3. Yup, it will be interesting to watch him. I think a year where he get 9 games in the NHL, a key role in the WJC, the balance of junior, and possibly a playoff run in the A would be great development. Keep him with the big team until Christmas, even if he's not playing every game.
  4. Maybe, but all 3 of those can move up and down to the big club with ease... Horvat is all or nothing, that's why there's even a conversation. Plus he's the only one of those players currently playing C.
  5. We've been surprisingly healthy to start the season, atleast on F. I'm sure once a guy or two get banged up it will be a lot easier to slide Horvat into the lineup.
  6. Official for now, I'd say. If he sticks after the 9 games than you could officially say he's made the team.
  7. The way I see it, if Bo plays well enough to be considered the first C call up for this team, then we should keep him up. If we send him down then we are just hurting ourselves when a C goes down with an injury this season.
  8. Thanks, I wonder if they only plan on giving him 9 games if they will sit him for 5 or 6 games to let him be around the team and practice with them longer before sending him back.
  9. I thought Horvat looked solid tonight. Nothing too flashy but good positioning and sound play. And he seems to get better later in the game, which is good to see. Does anyone one if he makes the team, does it count as one of his 9 games if he doesn't dress?
  10. This kids got great potential, size like that and already a decent skater... I don't want to make Chara comparisons, but when Z was the same age and played for the cougars he could barely skate.
  11. Well said man, I agree. I will trust whatever JB decides between Ehlers nylander Virtanen and Ritchie.
  12. Not even close, more like best coach available for this team though.
  13. Nice, I'm happy to see the group of hockey minds that TL has been able to assemble so far, guys like benning and potentially desjardin who have been lifers in the hockey game just feels right.
  14. Lol no kidding, at least it's better than just putting a bunch of ?????'s instead.
  15. Yea,except he came in out of shape, if he was up to NHL fitness standard he would probably be closer to 215-220 right now. That is my biggest red flag for Ritchie... The guy is about to go into the NHL draft and is a top 10 rated prospect, but he's not even committed enough to be in shape? That worries me.
  16. Actually, when you lay it out like that it sounds like we could use some top line forwards in our prospect pool, not more 3rd/2nd tweeners.
  17. Especially when that skill is 5'11" and in great physical shape, it's not like they're 5'8".
  18. Yea, I think so too, for some reason though I would not be surprised if they take Virtanen, I wouldn't be upset either. As one of the youngest players in the draft he may still have the most potential with his frame shot and speed. Obviously hoping we can get Reinhardt though.... Exactly the 1C that this team needs.
  19. If we could get to 1 or 2 by trading the 6th and roster players id be all over it. No way am I trading Horvat though, that's going backwards, I don't care how good Reinhardt may be, we need to keep the youth we have and keep adding to it.
  20. I'm happy it's over, I don't think I could handle another double OT game like that, so intense!
  21. Nylander is the type of player that will thrive in the NHL with more skilled line mates. IMO, Ritchie is the type of player who will have a very hard time being as effective in the NHL as he is in juniors. It will take him at least 3 seasons in the NHL before he breaks through offensively.
  22. ^^ What are your sources for those claims? From what I've read about him including comments from his coaches in Sweden, his defense needs work like most young players, but effort is not a concern.
  23. I don't think drafting 1 player will determine the entire make up of the team either way.
