  1. Hey guys, I just got a Google Pixel, but I have one question about it. I tried doing a search on Google for it but couldn't find anything. Every so often the phone will pop up saying, "check out your latest Automatic Creation!" but I have no idea what that is/does or how to turn it on/off. Anybody more experienced with the phone able to enlighten me? Thank you!
  2. I did take it to a professional but he said there was nothing he could do, and my school either. TBH its only $800 which would be SO nice to have, but at the same time I don't want to risk pissing my university off and getting expelled or something. I'll just suck it up as a life lesson. For everybody else! BE CAREFUL WHEN SIGNING UP FOR COURSES!!!!!!! If you're like me and have to pay tuition, car payments, insurance, and everything else while working be careful with your course sign ups! If you stay signed up for more then 15 days with 3+ courses when classes start (for example every university has a specific date that CLASSES START. For my school, it was September 6th) then make sure you drop them ASAP if you plan to go part-time, otherwise you risk losing that $800ish. Future warning for all the students out there! (but remember if you go for 4+ months of full time schooling, you won't make the cut.) Personally what I'm going to start doing is part-time in September to get the $1800 grant from the Government, then Full-time for winter, and maybe part-time for summer again. With my current income, it ends up being $1100 - $1300 in tax money back +$1800 which pays for a hefty chunk of my tuition. I highly recommend at least going part-time for at least one semester to get the part-time studies grant. It's easy to fill out.
  3. Hi, I have a question as I'm really ignorant when it comes to taxes. For University, I go during Sept-Dec and then Jan-April (attend UFV) and then Summers I work to pay off my tuition for the next semesters, but regardless: During the Sept-Dec semester I was only going part-time, and then for Jan-April I was going full time. On my T2202A tax form, It said that I was going to school for 1 month Full-Time, and 2 months Part-Time during a single semester and then 4 months full time for the next semester. So I have a couple of questions for the more Tax-orientated peoples (thank you in advance!) 1. I asked another friend of mine, and we both took the exact same semesters but for his, he got 4 months full time versus my 2 months part-time and 1 month full-time. Confused why that happened, so I guess question is why did that happen? (Or rather why he has a total of 4 months and I have a total of 3 months) 2. Because my T2202A states that I went for a total amount of 5 months full-time schooling in 2016, I'm not longer eligible for the "Working Income Tax Benefit" which requires a total of 4+ months (On the site, it says 13 weeks but my accountant says 13 weeks = the 4 months. For reference: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/bnfts/wtb/fq_qlfyng-eng.html#q2), yet I was only a part-time student during Sept-Dec. (2 classes). I called my school, and they told me that since I was technically signed up for 3 total courses, I was considered full-time for 1 month, but I was only in 3 classes for the first week of school. (I only went to the very first class, and after dropped it) so is there a work around to this? Thanks for the help in advance. Due to this whole ordeal, on my tax return I lost out on about $800 because of that 1 technicality so just wondering if theres some kind of work around to it because it seems a little silly to have to lose $800 because I took a class I never even paid to take for 1 week. However, if thats just how the cookie crumbles, then I guess life-lesson learned :P. Thank you for reading guys!
  4. I also never asked my friend this, but how would a religious person who believes the Earth really is 6,000 years old explain Fossil Fuels? Doesn't Oil, Coal, and Natural gas take MILLIONS of years to make? If it were only a 6,000 year old Earth how would we not have the technology now to speed up the making of Fossil Fuels? Honest question I was thinking about asking it to him but i'm not going to lie, EVERY time I bring up something that contradicts what he's saying his answer is always "My proof is in the bible."
  5. OKAY first off I want it to be clear. I'm going to put it in my opening too THIS IS NOT A TROLL THREAD I'm legit serious this conversation really did happen. Like I said I mean no disrespect to people of various religions or beliefs and I don't want to start a huge debate. I've tried ignoring him and changing the subject. For example, when he was telling me all this about the Earth being 6,000 years old. I kept saying "my friend Kelly is really depressed I wonder what's wrong with her" on Skype he kept on bringing the topic back up over and over again. Sorry for the misleading title, I thought it was appropriate. He is extremely ignorant about anything except his own opinion but he is a good person and it's hard for you guys to see that because you don't hang out with them everyday. If your best friend suddenly took up religion and started talking about it to you and you didn't agree with it but he kept bringing it up, would u really: A) punch him in the face? tell him to F off and have beer / pizza? C) start an enormous argument No you wouldn't do anything like that. It's a lot more complicated at least for me anyways. If it was some random who said that? Who cares what they think. I don't know them, they can believe whatever they want. But if it's a good/close/best friend? I feel entitled to listen to them because it's what i'd expect them to do for me.
  6. Uhhmmmmm he did talk about this one time I can't remember what he said though. I'm pretty sure he knows the difference, and I know for a fact he HATES Catholics. He like absolutely despises them. We used to play League of Legends with some friends, and a religious topic came up and they said they were both Catholic and he stopped talking to them because "just being around/listening to them made him uncomfortable." Does that help with Old Testament law vs the New Covenant at all? Sorry I'm really uneducated in religious statements/quotes. I know when Darksiders came out (the game that has one of the 4 horsemen, War) he didn't want me to play it because it's taken from the Bible.
  7. He's really cool 99% of the time, but there comes a time every so often when he goes on a preaching rampage.. And I have no idea how to uhh.. have an educated discussion about it. Because everything I say get's retranslated into "The bible is LAW"
  8. Well what were the giant bones found in the ground then? lol
  9. OKAY first off I want it to be clear. I'm going to put it in my opening too THIS IS NOT A TROLL THREAD. I'm reading a lot of replies that say this is just a troll thread, etc.. it's not. We did have this conversation. Also I changed the title so it's not as misleading. I'm legit serious this conversation really did happen. I made a topic a long time ago, but it's probably gone by now, but this time my friend decided to preach to me again about the age of the Earth friend: "Can you believe some people think the Earth is billions of years old?" me: "well isn't it?" friend: "no it's 6,000 years old" me: "So dinosaurs lived 6,000 years ago?" friend: "No, around 5,000 years ago actually." me: "What? where does it say that?" friend: "The bible." me: "Well how does that prove anything?" friend: "The bible has all the proof you'll need. Science is wrong and it's funny because the bible has proved so many things about Science wrong" *he failed to mention anything* So at this point I wanted to get off the topic because, (no offense. everyone is entitled to their own beliefs,) it was getting really annoying. Then he goes friend: "How was the moon made?" me: "I think i remember in science during highschool it was a small planet that crashed into earth while it was still forming" friend: "that's stupid. God put it there." me: "Oh okay." friend: "and scientists think it's moving farther away from the Earth too? that's stupid" me: "Well the universe is still expanding" friend: "No it's not." So I keep trying to change the subject, but I didn't know how so then he asks me "Do you believe in God?" me: "I believe theres a higher power." friend: "So you believe there is God. Maybe you should study it then or look into it more." me: "Maybe. I just believe that it takes just as much faith to believe in the bible as it does to not believe in it." So... I don't know what to say lol. I feel like if I say anything he'll just get mad at me. During the Chinese Dynasty wasn't that around 5,000 years ago? If dinosaurs WERE alive wouldn't they have been writing about them? Doesn't it take millions of years for Fossil fuels to be created? I dunno.. Sorry for the rant. P.S. I'm not trying to bash anybodies beliefs. Sorry if this post offends you if it does, I really sincerely mean no offence to you in any way.
