    @mll For the record, I'm not disputing your knowledge of the CBA, I simply maintain that JB should build the team as he sees fit and cross the Lu bridge when it comes, that's all.

      mil - isn't it also the case if Lu is injured and on LTIR there's no recapture issue?  I suspect thats how its going to play out with his hip.

      ^If he is injured and can't play there is no recapture because his contract is still in effect.

      It's going to be interesting. If Lu decides he wants to play forever (who knows what this injury is going to do to his mobility, etc) then Florida would be better served by trading him than buying him out. Shed the cap and also save millions of cash. Although perhaps you stated buy him out since there may not be teams willing to absorb him at that point. If there are doctors out there prescribing pills all willy nilly then there's got to be another one diagnosing Hossa's skin condition, but for goalies. Or we could see him on LTIR for the duration of his contract at some point a la Pronger.
