@debluvscanucks The trick is, You do a lil' day drinking and eventually you will get a lil' drowsy so you take a nap..once you wake up you're refreshed and ready to go! But not like you missed anything so mute point.

For the big event I'm going to wear my fleece on the inside flying pig leggings (love them). Probably my Corno the Pornstar green turkey shirt. My dollar shop pink slippers that I am thrilled with (cost me four bucks and they're awesome).
Probably a plastic headband because my hair's getting too long and my hairdresser is on Galiano now (I am so desperate I may swim over to her soon).

Has anyone here done Jury Duty?..what was the experience like?..I got a letter but on the fence.

I have a union job, so the courts love me (Because I get my regular pay even in jury duty).
Depends on your situation. A lot of people are contracted out, or run their own businesses so
it's understandable if they can't do jury duty because it would be a financial hardship.
(Or you have kids, or dependants)
Basically you and 100+ people are at BC court. We had 3 possible trials. 2 out of the 3 chose judge only.
Only one requested a jury. Then they whittle down the jurors. Basically the defence can decide they don't want you. Interestingly in my case they threw out a lot of women as potential jurors. It was a murder case. (The accused took an axe to his Mom).
It was 6 weeks on an off. We finished one afternoon. Deliberated for 3 hours. Had one hold out. Had to stay at a hotel downtown over night. We came to a decision within 1 hour the next day.
What surprised me is we were given the choice of sentencing, which I thought the Judge did.
So it depends on the case, and depends on your situation.
Not sure if I'd want a murder or gang case that might be 6 months to a year.
If you do get selected you can't do jury duty again for a minimum 18 months once the trial is over.
Side note. My Mom and Dad were divorced. But they both got called for jury duty and got assigned the same trial. Oddly enough they got along well when they had jury duty.

The biggest thing I am looking forward to next season is how Demko's game is, Man, if he played how he left off this team is starting to look legit!...could use a dman though but I think Joulevi will surprise us.
