I was hopeful we could come out of the Benning era relatively unscathed, but the buyout has eliminated that outcome. I can't believe I actually felt sorry for Benning towards the end of his tenure, when the banners were flying and vitriol reached a fever pitch. After yesterday, I feel zero sympathy towards him anymore, **** that guy, he was only out for himself.

Remember a few months ago, people were so choked with JR/PA that they wanted Benning back?

It is September 1st, as per Darren Dreger. But it's also irrelevant.  It's not the cap hit that's the concern, it's the actual cash.  Low budget teams like say Arizona, or just ones with stingy owners, would like the prospect of only paying $1 million dollars for him in actual dollars.  The reality is that makes him much more palatable for an acquiring team. Doesn't mean he'll be moved but it does make it easier.

There seems to be more conflicting reports on whether it is Sept. 1 or Sept. 15.  I dont think any legitimate source suggests it's July 1 anymore.

If all it takes is 1 person to derail such a thread, it's just going to happen again. As nice as it would be to be able to discuss such things in a stable and productive manner, CDC just isn't going to be that kind of platform that can do that.

@Master Mind @The Lock It's become a pretty important issue in the the NHL, where every team and player decision is newsworthy.  So for a hockey forum to be unable to even talk about those things (without completely breaking down into homophobic slander) is disappointing.  The hockey subreddits have done a much better job approaching this topic.

All I'll say further is, if your goal is to tell people against the LGBTQ+ community that they're hiding under a rock, all that's going to do is make them even more against that community. I get the sentiment, I really do, but you have to go about it the right way. You need to win allies, and a forum without using the right tact... that's just going to have the opposite effect.

I agree that the homophobic slander is disappointing, but telling people it's wrong isn't going to make people on the opposite side actually see that it's wrong. You need to go to the core of why they think the way they do in the first place and figure out how to make them an ally.

Anyway, I'm not going to reply further on this. "Newsworthy" does not mean "forumworthy" and there are too many people on this forum who would likely blunder any possibility of talking to people of a differing opinion.

Basically what others have said, if you've got the receipt showing you've paid in full take it and talk to them. It's their businesses's reputation on the line. Poor reviews scare people away more than people realize.

I never did, the toe is usually slanted or shorter than the rest of the blade (at least thats how my sticks are). I don't have tape on my toe because i want the puck to slip to the sweet spot on the curve for more strength and accuracy than there would be at the toe.
