  1. Farewell, CDC. Last post and unofficially cracking 1000 posts on this side (already achieved it on the new forum). For those joining on the other side, see you there! Those who will be turning a chapter in the forum's along with its shut down, we wish you all the best. Through the ups and downs of being a Canucks fan, we have so much to look back on - this was a virtual home for so many of us. You will be missed, but the Mods and Admin Team on the other (better! ) side has greatly made the transition so easy. As always, Go Canucks Go!
  2. Hi all, I'd like to clarify that the other poster was "HARVEY SPECTOR", which is was the incorrect spelling of the Suit's character if they were going for that alias, in the Off-Topic side of CDC. I was made aware of the poster after I was tagged incorrectly by a few Quotes / Replies. Hopefully, I, as "HARVEY SPECTER", with the "E" and the correct spelling, did not ruffle any feathers in my posting, while on the main part of CDC. Cheers all and I hope to see you all on the other forum. Thanks @-SN- for starting that up - I look forward to maintaining the strength of our Canucks community despite the unfortunate news. I appreciate @Warhippy / @Gurn for the tags here so I have an opportunity to clarify my side. Cheers!
  3. The Islanders claimed him off waivers and he made his NHL debut with them. His subsequent stops (at the NHL level) were the Blackhawks, and Blue Jackets. He has bounced between the NHL and AHL over the years. Fitting that his PTO comes from the team who originally drafted him. Potentially he will go to the Ontario Reign if he is signed later on. This time he will not need to compete against Jhonas Enroth who beat him for the back-up spot, nor another "Joonas" in Korpisalo who is now a Senator.
  4. Tony Esposito, Patrick Roy, Marc-Andre Fleury? Hopeful, as this one stumped me all afternoon
  5. Willander, meet Mr. Foote and Mr. Gonchar
  6. Quite an enjoyable read on Hoglander's progress since moving to the Abby Canucks on his birthday. I love that he has bought into the system and his mindset has demonstrated that he has the tools to take the next steps in flourishing.
  7. It was a great first game in the NHL for Hirose. He had the poise and confidence - looking forward to seeing what he can do as he spends more time with the coaching staff and familiarizing himself with the rest of the team. Instead of seeking that internship, he is seeking a spot long-term in the Top-4
  8. Donated! All the best @-DLC-! You and your team are doing great work! Feels great to be at "Bunny Champion" status!
  9. It gives me the 2005-06 pre-Reebok Edge design cues that Arizona/Phoenix is accustomed to - a base of solid maroon with some white/cream piping. An ode to their past, but a bit basic?
  10. Was thinking it was odd too but turns out @Crimson-JH saw them and they were family of Ethan Bear wearing his old Oilers jersey. All is well and glad to see our supporters in another team's barn.
  11. RIP Mr. Salming. An absolute legend on- and off-ice. Thank you for all of your contributions to the game in a classy manner. Condolences to the Salming family, friends, and loved ones.
  12. Congrats to Turris on his new endeavour with the Coquitlam Express. Nice to see him back in Beautiful British Columbia. All the best and it is great for him to get some experience in management (as a Special Advisor) and as a Development Coach. Not too shabby of a post-career outcome along with his NSH buyout agreement for financial stability over the next 6 seasons.
  13. Understandably it seems odd to give a PTO to a player on their previous season roster, but I think offering/signing him to one allows him to dress for practices or pre-season games, while being able to compete/showcase again the Hurricanes' roster or another NHL team. Without one, I believe he is unable to play at any capacity. Perhaps at most listed as "skating with the team".
  14. Definitely interesting to see that Adidas is out after the 2023-24 season. A few possible companies to bid/take on the contract: CCM: As @-AJ- mentioned, CCM is now independent under Birch Hill Equity Partners. I can see them welcoming back the On-Ice Authentic's, and fan replicas. Bauer: Their recent large investment into the textiles sector with their brand revamp, and bringing on more apparel options to the hockey, and lifestyle markets. Also, they used to be the manufacturer tagged on 90's Team Canada jerseys, with their old "flyer-esque" logo. Fanatics: I have not been a fan of their jersey offerings from the material and manufacturing standpoint, but I can see them making a push to take over after their partnership with Adidas expires (assuming the same 2023-24 timeline). They have connections with the MLB as well in terms of manufacturing jerseys within their (affiliate) facilities. Under Armour: Intriguing point by @Crimson-JH, I can see UA taking on more jersey contracts as they currently outfit some of the NCAA Men's and Women's teams. Demko's worn their jerseys before as a member of Boston College.
  15. DiPietro's agent has spoken out about his last few seasons and the potential impact of the previous regime's decisions on his client's development. Ferris is the agent for notable names including Kadri (UFA), Zacha (RFA), Rodrigues (UFA), Domi (CHI 2022), Anderson (MTL 2020), Hall (BOS 2021), and Marner (TOR 2019). Speaking with Kuzma, he mentioned a few routes that DiPietro could go: Full article here: https://vancouversun.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/canucks-michael-dipietros-agent-believes-club-dropped-the-ball-on-clients-development/wcm/9d1d6667-82aa-4941-9e13-7a3509ad56b3?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1658958659
  16. First thing that came to mind when I saw he was a former IceHog and Blackhawk. Colliton most likely had input into this signing.
  17. Had to figure something would have been brewing beneath the surface after these comments flew between Guerin and Talbot's agent last week: Good move by the Sens to clear Murray , and run the tandem of Forsberg and Talbot into the season.
  18. Moving in silence to avenge the heartbreak of 2011? I like it
  19. RIP Duke. My condolences to the Boeser family Stay strong, Brock, Laurie, Jessica, and Paul
  20. I too am disappointed to hear that Boudreau's go-to assistant coach is not returning behind the bench for us in the upcoming season. I wish him all the very best in his future career endeavors if he continues on to a new coaching role. However, could this (personal) decision be linked with Walker being struck by an errant puck in the Jan 21st game against Florida. Struck in the head by a puck on January 21 in a game against the Florida Panthers, Walker has been away from the team ever since. “He had vertigo,” Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau told reporters. “Talking to him last night, he sounded a lot better, but he still gets a little lightheaded and stuff, so I’m hoping they find what’s wrong.” https://canucksarmy.com/2022/03/08/miss-terribly-canucks-head-coach-bruce-boudreau-provides-update-assistant-scott-walker/ I recognize that Walker rejoined the team on Mar 16th but could there be lingering effects? I hope not
  21. Hyped for the Abby Canucks and Playoff Podz! He will be looking fresh when he rolls out on the ice with the Baby Canucks!
