  1. LOL this thread has 6 pages to date?
  2. It's customary to thank the organization from the top down. You're reading WAY too much into it
  3. I'd say Granlund is far from "lesser skilled" than his brother. If anything, being younger he's right on track and perhaps ahead of Mikael's development. Next year will be the litmus test.
  4. Based on what TL said, it's effectively been a 3 year evaluation process. Maybe they wanted enough time down in the AHL with some specific players and transition all to the NHL at the same time. 4 year deal also means they're investing in Green and they feel comfortable with the fit. Gallant's off the table, Sutter is not suitable for this team, Hitchcock is off the table. Maybe with Green not just being a rookie coach but also a young rookie coach he will be able to better relate to the young players, as as well as the veterans having played 16-17 years in the league. I initially wasn't pleased about the announcement, but after watching the presser I have a better vibe. I think it's if nothing else going to be an exciting year next year.
  5. Well someone actually brought up Subban. Interesting to see if Green gives him more of a chance, like at the very least a FULL training camp without being a first cut.
  6. We were supposed to be "transitioning" after we fired Tortorella. The 5 to 8 year rebuild struggle is real. This is a major fail, it reeks of incompetence. I'm really beginning to lose my patience with the personnel decision this management group is making. Another rookie coach is not what this team needs. Maybe I'll choke on my words and be proven wrong, but I had the same philosophy when WD was brought on board 3 years ago and look how that turned out.
  7. Depends on whether this trade happens before or after the deadline. I haven't looked at Winnipeg's situation, but I suspect this would be a draft day deal, pre July 1; so I'd probably expect if such a trade to go down, it would be 1st + Connor + B-Grade defensive prospect (someone close to ready for the NHL, but not close to making an impact for WPG) for Tanev + CBJ 2nd
  8. Of all the proposals I've seen, this is actually not terrible. Except with Tryamkin bolting to the KHL, and surely Sbisa to be plucked off expansion draft, we're already down 2 full time defencemen, losing a 3rd, from our top pairing no less I think would be asking for trouble.
  9. LA laughs, hangs up the phone and waits until July 1

  12. The problem with Kassian here is no coach he was under let him play his game. Yes he had off ice issues, but on the ice almost every shift was different. I think he should have been left to play his game his way, forcing coaches to you know develop their system around the players they have than to force the players into their systems. Round peg, square hole. Glad he's at least found a role after the off ice stuff could have easily ended his career.
  13. Because I've only just heard off hand accounts of the video, and no mainstream media that I've seen adequately described the nature of the killing. It was never described as an execution style shooting. I wanted to see the evidence myself before commenting on an event if for no other reason than to be fully informed. We live in an era of misinformation from mainstream media, so people should whenever possible fact check and see the sources themselves. For whoever is saying this is fake... get a life.
  14. #10. These acts, and because he used social media to record the execution of that innocent person, can be construed as domestic terrorism. But guaranteed he's shot on site, so either way he's one dead mofo. I JUST watched the video and it's honestly the most disturbing thing I've seen in my entire life. Without question.
