I feel like bumping this thread not to point out I'm right but to point out that a lot of people, yourself included, were completely wrong when it came to the value of the Sedin twins going forward.
We signed them for 7 million and they will never be point per game players again over the course of a full season. Despite that, given the current situation, I think it's best now that we retain them and trade the other veterans on our team in the offseason, hopefully around the draft.
We need good veterans like the Sedins to mentor our younger players going forward (something young teams like Edmonton and Florida are sorely missing). Meanwhile players like Kesler and Edler, while very valuable, are more likely to be highly sought by other teams given their age and contract situation, those are the players I would be shopping at the draft if I were Gillis.
Just ride out the remainder of this season and evaluate what we really have, don't make a kneejerk transaction.
