Smoking is a big deal, it significantly affects your lungs and cardio. It becomes extremely hard to exercise after many years of regularly smoking. If I was a GM and one of my players smoked regularly I would probably trade him. When your job is based around your physical performance and working as hard as you can, smoking can significantly impact your performance.
