  1. To Van: Huberdeau To Fla: Gudbranson Baertschi Goldobin What are your thoughts on the value of this trade? Florida is rumoured to be very interested in re acquiring Guddy and with the hockey world seemingly in doubt about him re-signing here, Florida seems like a good partner. They also acquire Sven Baerstchi; who can provide second line scoring for the Panthers in the present, with potential to still improve in the future, as well as Nikolay Goldobin; who has serious top 6 potential for the future but may never get the chance with the Canucks. Vancouver gets Huberdeau (who I can't quote any sources but have heard through the grapevine that the Canucks have been interested in since Benning took over), a young 1st liner who legitimately could turn the Horvat, Boeser line in to a powerhouse. Let me hear some feedback
  2. Here's my summary from the GDT Final thoughts on some players performances this weekend: Juolevi - hit and miss. Runs a power play quite well and had a few good rushes. Looks like he's gained strength but doesn't quite know how to use it yet. Not worried about him, his style is better suited for more structured systems. Bo was the same way in the prospects tourney coming from London. Passing to where players should be, not where they are. Boeser - Definitely looked reserved. Would've liked to see the speed he has reportedly gained over the summer. He was the best player on the ice when he wanted to be and easily could've had 2 or 3 goals in his two games. Demko - Looked very composed. Further along in his development, you can tell. Made some hard saves look easy. Let in some goals he shoulda saved. C'est la vie. He's gonna be good. DiPietro - Very raw still but has the potential to be solid. Hung out to dry in his game. With more technical training he could be something. Could go either way. Lind - Best player on the ice against the Jets. Not good against the Flames. Better again against the Oilers. Excellent vision. Protects the puck well and looks big on the ice. Will never be a powerforward but if he adds mass and speed can be a force. Gadjovich - Possibly the most consistent Canuck IMO. Good positioning and battles hard in front of the net. Never noticed him do anything exceptionally good, nor exceptionally bad. Not as slow as I've heard, but could be faster. Don't think he'll ever be a player who crushes people, despite what the fan base wants. Chatfield - Most consistent and best defence man. Good speed, positioning and even showed some offensive prowness. Great signing. His floor is likely a Frank Corrado type, but could definitely exceed that. Brisebois - Stylistically comparable to Juolevi and had a very similar tournament to him. Plays a quiet style but showed some quarterbacking ability as well. Carcone - Alex Burrows 2.0 hopefully. Liked his grit in the first game. I wondered if there was more to his game cause admittedly, I didn't know too much about him. Against the Oilers he showed NHL speed, hands and shot and was probably the best player on the ice. Could've had 4 goals ezpz. Can he put it together and make the big club? First he needs to prove himself in the AHL, but I wouldn't count him out. He could be a player for us in the future. Stewart - You can tell why the Canucks drafted him, signed him and have given him such a chance just by looking at him. Unfortunately despite being one of the oldest players he showed little on the ice. Laplante - Tenacious, gritty and tough. Has decent speed and showed some hands, but only time will tell if he can keep up in the NHL MacEwen - I saw a lot of people praising him on here, but honestly from what I saw I wasn't too impressed. He wasn't bad, but wouldn't consider him a standout. Played about the same as McKenzie who was perhaps more physical but lacked speed Molino - Probably the fastest player in the tournament. Perhaps can play out a Hansen or Raymond type career but will need to hone his craft in the AHL for a while first and at 23, he is already one of the older people at camp. Stukel - Speed and dangles. That's about all there seems to be to stukels game. He can be tenacious at times, but his one trick pony will likely not get him to the big leagues. Thats all the big ones off the top of my head. In terms of invitees, Moynihan and Irving were probs the most noticeable. D'aoust showed some tools at times, think he's on an AHL contract. Garteig looked solid, wouldn't count him out yet

  4. Yo it says in the post this will be on CBC but on my tv it says they are showing the Pittsburgh game. Can someone confirm CBC is in fact showing this?
  5. Ok, so I feel obliged to clear the air (at least to the best of my knowledge) seeing as i know the victim and am close with many of his close friends. We are not talking about a thug, "crackhead car thief", or bad person by any stretch of the imagination. We are talking about a 19-year old kid. Just graduated. He was about 5'2 and 110 pounds soaking wet, and he was a truly kind person. The story as i've heard it from friends who had been in contact with him that night and a witness goes as such: Jessie was alone and drunk at about 4:30 in the morning. He was trying to find his way to a friends house, and being as he was from out of town, he was lost. Its thought that he was trying to read the address of the house when the man came out and approached him with a baseball bat. He chased him down the block and beat him to death in another persons yard, on a separate street. Now my side of the story may be biased and nobody does or probably will know the whole story.. But to me, self defence and the protection of your property ends when someone is running away in fear. This kid did not deserve to lose his life... And the majority of people defending the murderer in Kamloops are the very same people who are complaining about the increased violence and crime rate in the area. Murder is a crime and by supporting a murderer, you are no different than a criminal. You are part of the problem

They did it with Andrea and now they did it with Beth. They bring a character nobody cares about to the forefront, devote an entire story arc to them, and kill them at the end of it all so they can say they killed a major character. Everything just seemed so forced. This whole segment has been awkward and I can't say I'm remotely shocked they killed off Beth. Well, on the bright side, no more Beth.

I couldn't stand the Beth episode man. It was weird, felt like a completely different show. All the acting was just a little bit off kilter, and I personally don't think Beth is a strong enough character (or Emily Kinney a strong enough actor) to carry an episode. At least this episode still had the same Walking Dead vibe to it. A generally pointless episode, but well acted and directed. Maybe because I've read the comics I have more of an affinity to Abraham, Eugene and Rosita... Just seems like whenever the show adds a new storyline in to scheme of things it is poorly executed.

This episode was a lot better than the Beth one...

On the EA forums rammer has been answering a lot of questions in regards to NHL 15... sort of. Are the Be A GM changess on the old gens the same as the next gens? Like obviously theres no drafting, but if they implement that eventually and the simulation is as rad as old gen then maybe this game is worth a wal-mart gift card
