  1. Suter is a really good D-man, but his cap hit is too high even for what he does. So while Suter is the better player, I'm still convinced that Garrison has the better value contract-wise.
  2. I don't think Garrison is that bad defensively. He's not performing up to his standards yet but you have to give him more time to adjust. Plus a lot of our other blueliners are struggling immensely and we know they can be better too .. a lot of people on here are just using Garrison as a scapegoat when it's really a team game. Besides, if there should be any scapegoat for this mess it should be coaching (Bowness in particular). After Bieksa went out we shuffled the D pairings that were already working just to make way for Alberts to slot in - stupid idea since instead of having 1 or 2 solid pairings and ending up with a 3rd mediocre pairing, you balance out the crap and throw out the good. The strategy of balancing out skill and ability might work for forward lines but usually it messes up chemistry on D so bad that the risks are borderline retarded at best. I hope we don't see any of this experimenting in the playoffs, otherwise fire drills like the one we had tonight are going to mess up our cup hopes.
  3. I think the wind-up is almost as important as the strength of the shot, maybe even more so. Usually, wind-ups that take a lot of time aren't particularly effective. Although Salo was pretty good at that, but I think that had more to do with opposing players being scared s***less about his shot than anything .. they usually got out of the way if anything (for the few players who dove to block his shot, I'm not sure which is more true: whether they were brave or just plain stupid ). Garrison, otoh, clearly has a faster wind-up. He may never be the PP specialist Salo was, but I think he'd be better suited for quick one-timed shots than most in the league, and that's a nice asset to have, if true.
  4. One thing I noticed from all the goals he scored in FLA: he winds up the shot real fast considering how hard it is. The same thing was the case with his goal last game, and I didn't remember seeing him do that before while he was wearing the blue and green. We need more of that from him .. hopefully he's starting to feel comfortable with our system.
  5. Actually Hoff wasn't good in the SCF either, so you can't say he proved it "all day long". In fact, Bieksa was clearly better in the Conference Finals against SJ. Remember, he contributed 4 goals in 5 games in a pivotal series. I dunno how you could keep knocking on the dude but after awhile it gets old. I mean really. And on a soft note. Not only is he a great D-man but he's easily the best quotable player on the team. I still laugh at what he said about John Scott. The f**ing pylon got served! XD
  6. Yeah but there are lots of other CDCers who make profoundly awful posts. You wouldn't be missing out on that much!
  7. you have my vote as well as many others I'm sure
  8. See, that's exactly what happens when you quote things outside of their context! Politicians do it all the time
  9. LOL I know, some of them look pretty terrible at it. But that's b/c we're use to seeing the pros do it so seamlessly.
  10. Dude how stubborn can you possibly get ... if "Bxa" scores the cup winner, you still won't be satisfied, will you? Do you even realize why it looked like a "lame as, knuckler of a slow motion" shot? Oh yeah, maybe because theyreplayed it in slow motion? Face it, Bieksa is easily one of our best if not the best D-men. He had literally a point per game in the SJ series, and I know that's a bit misleading considering the small sample size, but that is still amazing for a blueliner. Especially when you consider how solid he's been in his own end.
  11. Kevin Bieksa you are really .... .... a playoff performer! Way to go champ! And the haters can suck it, because trading you would've been a BAD mistake! I'm so glad we didn't :D
  12. You think EHRHOFF is tougher than Bieksa? WTF are you smoking?
  13. You sound so passionate about who does the weather lol ...it's not a sports-like competition or anything!
  14. Looks like I should stop reading Bleacher Report rumours.
