      The more I think about it, I wouldn't be shocked if Edler received the C.

      Agreed. Just strictly from a PR perspective, if you're trying to sell "the future", giving the C to someone like Edler or some other stopgap would be extremely counterproductive.

      Thinking about it, we need someone that relates to the refs well, so maybe Sutter. 

      Sutters are the NHL wikipedia, one phone call and he can call any of his Uncle's :)
