I think one if the worst things about the NHL cba is the NTC/NMC clause. Many players have all Canadian teams on their NTC lists. Everyone wants to play on big market US teams. IMO NHL has to fight hard to make changes to this clause at next CBA negotiations. . Make some changes where all teams in the league have more of an equal opportunity to trade for players they are willing to pay for. It's hard to get UFAs to sign in a lot of markets and on top of that players won't accept trades to those same teams. Philly is not one of those teams. I think this has mostly to do with Krug not wanting to play for Torts going into UFA as it could cost him millions on his next contract if he and Torts don't get along. But imo some changes need to be made where NTCs are limited to 1 team in each division or something like that...

If Simishev is there at 11th Canucks have to take him..

Going to have to eat salary on his contract. He's a good player at 3 millions. If we can get a younger guy with potential back and have to eat some of Garlands salary it might work.

They should have drafted him when they had the chance. Local kid with size and grit should have been on the top of the radar for Gillis Nonis and company at the time.. He's done now. Too slow and too old for today's game..

He's not "late" in his hockey career. He's 24 yrs old. 25 tomorrow. Six years into his career he's asked to get traded from CBJ and WPG. According to the CBA Jets have right to not oblige to his demands. . There's nothing in the CBA that says they have to trade him.. If he sits out the season they should suspemd him for the season and explore some sort of sanctions via all avenues available to make Dubois honor his contract and attempt to slide his UFA to 2025. This is the 3rd young star player to do this in Winnipeg over the last few years. Jacob Trouba, Patrik Laine and now Dubois There has to be a point where a small market team in a cold city like WPG has to put their foot down and send a signal to other young players that this is no longer acceptable.

Ofcourse no one would want to lose him for nothing. I thought Jets had 2 years with him under control but that's only if he goes to arbitration then Jets have right to chose 2 years.. Qualify him and let him sit until the right deal comes across. Sakic held on to Duchesne for a long time until the right deal came across, and he hit a home run.. Byram and Girard are part of the package plus Hammond plus Bowers plus Kamenev plus plus plus....

If I'm the Jets management I'd refuse hisntrade request.. If he wants to sit out that's his choice. He still under club control foe 2 more seasons and I would set an example that Jets won't play this game..

There will be somewhat of a bidding war for this player. 4 years 3.5 mill per/yr. is what I'd offer. It might get to 4 * 4 though. A bit pricey for my liking but a good player to have on the team. Need more size and snarl on this team especially on D.

Saucy would be good as 3rd pair with spot duty on 2nd pair. I don't think he should be our fulltime 2md pair LHD if we want to be a competitive team. Very good #5 Dman

If for some reason he makes it past the Caps at 8th no way Steve Y passes on him at 9th. No way Michkov drops to us.

I want the big Russian Dman Simishev He'd be top 5 if he was Canadian with the exact same skill set, size and tool box.. There is the Russian factor involved with drafting him but I think that's a non issue. I'd take Simishev 6'4 smooth skating puck moving Dman and run. He might be the steal of the draft..

If canucks can somehow get Brett Pesce from the Canes that would be incredible.6'3 RHD would be great. But a lot would have to go back to CAR, I'm not sure Canucks could afford the cost it would take in a trade.

It all depends on what they are able to do via trades or UFA signings to improve this team. If they can use this cap space from OEL buyout to improve the team in a big way its great. If they waste the cap space and make a bad signing or bad trade then it's going to be a huge negative.. The final chapter is yet to be written. We'll know a lot more by draft and July 1st free agents signings. For now it's a good move. Let's see what they do with it now..

Better team is going to advance and that team is Dallas. Kraken had a good run and it was fun to see but Dallas is the better team. Love Heiskanen. Great player coming nto his prime. Hintz is a playoff beast. Built for the playoffs. We need a player like him on the Canucks.

Would have liked to see Bedard in OTT or MTL if not with us.. ANA or Chicago would be good. Don't want the kid with all that talent stuck in CBJ for 8 years.
