  1. Are the Sedins future changing?

Lets be honest with ourselves here. I love the twins, but there isn't really a dance partner that can trade for them that is also a contender and can take their cap hit for their current production level. It just doesn't make sense. Also don't really see them moving to a middling team or another bottom feeder.
  2. Disaster ahead ? Lets share our thoughts

Not sure if this is a disaster. The club has already outperformed itself in my eyes and i'm more hopeful for the future than I have been in the last 5 years or so. Disappointing Horvat is injured but I mean c'mon....even if the boys made the playoffs we'd need a miracle to make it out of the first round with our blueline. It's process, and that process continues at the draft where Benning continues to overhaul this club to the post-Sedin era.
  3. Best Athlete In the World?

Not sure you can include every sport in such an equation. There are just far too many variables and differences in what it takes in each to be the best. In such broad terms it would have to be some physically beastly athlete in....weightlifting? Running? I'm not sure.
  4. Surprised we actually got something for Subban. Dowd probably won't do anything for this team but at least we get to try something different. Neutral on the trade but impressed that Benning got someone to kick tires on Subban.
  5. [Report] Roberto Luongo out 6-8 weeks

Maybe he can develop a debilitating equipment allergy? I hear it can be quite detrimental to a player in his twilight years.
  6. Bo is still the heart of this team

I'm confused. Did someone say otherwise?
  7. Who will be the first coach to be fired this season?

That something special is the Jets actually getting decent goaltending for a change. Not having to play from a deficit constantly can do wonders for a team as talented as they have been for a few seasons now.
  8. A Millennial job interview

What about the situation where both parents have to work or else financial responsibilities won't be met? It's not as simple for some folks as saying "okay, i've decided i'm going to stay at home with the kids".
  9. Nikita Tryamkin | D

Pretty sure we've burnt that bridge. Time to look towards the future and not towards the past.
  10. Derek Dorsett | #15 | RW

Feel terrible about Dorsett. Feel bad for the team as well, he was one of our only 'sandpaper' players and was seeing the ice extremely well this season, will be hard to replace a character guy like him.
  11. A Millennial job interview

Meh, it all depends on their upbringing. At my company many of our entry positions in the warehouse are filled by 'millenials' and i've seen both good and bad. Some of them are no different than a kid of any generation trying to make a good impression on the boss....they show up early, stay late when asked and work hard, no problems. I have also seen the other fairly often. School (or home, or both) has not prepared them for a real workplace environment with deadlines and restrictions on what you can and can't do while on shift. They usually wash out fast, but some do shape up when faced with some actual adversity in life.
  12. what is your earliest memory of hockey?

Earliest? Super Series. Red Army vs the Oilers in '86 or '87, i'm not sure. I was young and didn't understand alot of the rules of the game but I remember the male half of my family (myself included) gathered around the tv in the living room glued to the screen for this one. I think the Oil lost?
  13. Alex Edler's 700th NHL Game

Great accomplishment for Alex and he really has contributed positively to the team over his years in Vancouver. The problem is that he is a relic from a previous age and it is beginning to show in a more consistent basis in his game. Like others have mentioned, he was never the same after that back injury and his hockey instincts were never Sedin level to help compensate for that. Either way best of luck to Edler in his continued tenure on the Canucks.
  14. Have you changed your mind on this season? (Discussion)

Change my mind on the season? That's assuming that alot of us had preconceived notions on the club after watching a few good games before the end of November. No. I assumed it would be a pretty rough season, but hopefully more entertaining to watch. Believe it or not, the middle of November still isn't a large enough sample size to make an accurate decision.
