  1. Because we over value a first that may or may not make the NHL fulltime, i.e. the JT Miller trade. Nevermind our record of within even the top 10 of drafts, let alone top 3
  2. Like Pavel, I like seeing him light up like a Christmas tree when he nets one...
  3. Well look where OEL was playing and then it became the norm here, in both scenarios it would be easier to lose heart and not be at your best. He can still play really well as in the past IF his heart is in it and it's clearly not anymore than it was in the past. He played well when he first arrived and that is still in him and as much as it kills me to say this, some guys need the proper motivation beside the $ and that's a team doing well and that hasn't been us recently. Why are some guys like that instead of focusing on getting paid millions to do something you obviously like, is way past my thinking, I'd be happy as shite making 500k a year doing something I like that much! Let alone actual millions but whatever. All we can hope for is he does get back to playing like he can, if not and pulls a LE, yeah that would SUCK! However I highly doubt it's his game slowing with age, seems to me more of a head/heart problem that can (fingers crossed) gets solved and gets back to his talent level play.. Some guys just need a change and I believe that was JB's thinking but now it's back to where he was before with a entire team that sucked just like where he came from to begin with. Should it all hang on that? No but... I hope we 're not that kind of team much longer
  4. I'm sitting here a bit in shock as the majority of passes we usually screw up, we're passing it faster and to a more open player than usual! It's been painful watching our guys turning over pucks and time of possession over and over and losing games over it. I'm not sure who is responsible for getting what is in my opinion as a Green-ism that's finally being addressed. I hope it keeps up, no it's not anywhere near perfect BUT it's encouraging to say the least. Oh and side note, seeing Kuz's confidence to try the between the legs shot is another reason why it's a lil bit easier to watch so again I just hope it keeps up!!
  5. Although you now have me curious Phil, curious enough to have a look at the height and weight comparison? Hmmm maybe.. have to go out and do stuff BUT once I get my mind on something, it's hard not to succumb to the curiosity...
  6. It's the whole team last I looked, just a bigger team as a whole, when I watch us play them last, I was like omfg those guys as a team are so much bigger than we are...
  7. If the Preds start playing their physical game, we will get destroyed and it won't even be close. That's where our team lacks is size and compared to them, we're almost laughable. Let's hope we don't wake them up like we did with Boston back in the day. IF we do, it's going to be hard to watch the carnage...
  8. Yeah if it was up to me the whole team would take boxing lessons or whatever.. anything...
  9. That's for sure, he's knocked over quite a few guys and pissed them off so bad they went after him, we need more of that, a LOT more!
  10. Well signing Kuz had a bit to do with that, probably they thought Kuz would come in a just do "ok" but then Kuz showed what he could do and management was forced to sign him for a lot more than anticipated. At least that's my guess, how much of a impact did that have? Well we may never know but if he'd have signed for less the difference could have been offered as a raise to what Bo was going to be offered and Boeser didn't help things either simply because other teams know of his wrist problems and doubtful we would get anywhere near his value but if he finishes off the season with no injuries that could change things but if that contract was off the books for prospects or picks that would have helped kept Bo in town as well but Flow's injury at the start of the year certainly came at a particularly bad time. Sometimes it's a lil easier said than done, especially for us.. we seem to have the worst luck going which why getting Kuz surprised me so much!
  11. Yep, he will get going as his self confidence grows and he's more likely to show off more of his O skillset instead of the focus on his D game. How soon will that happen? Idk BUT if it happened next season I wouldn't be surprised at all, seems to be settling in a lot more now.
  12. I hope Kuz rubs off on Podz, imo Podz is nowhere near his potential yet.
  13. I still can't believe that after some amazing moves and all the highlights from Europe, that this guy would "possibly" come in and fail, there's skill and then there's slick skill and Kuz is loaded with that!! Smokin happy with this guy, if management trades him, omfg that would be the worst mistake ever, not only does he score, he scores a lot of his goals exactly at the right time. Awesome Kuz! Keep it up! Actually if he keeps it up, he may just overtake Demko for my fave player on the roster, but then again Demko keeps us in game after game which with a lesser goalie we'd almost always lose. Quite the toss up for a fave player, glad to see Demko back though!
  14. I bet Coiler fans cringe everytime he scores and shows up on highlights! Well Coilers, too bad, so sad!
  15. Sighs.. this franchise is such a zoo no matter whose in charge, it's getting way past depressing. Are we cursed? Maybe, I'm beginning to think as much... maybe FA will sell and someone with some brains will take over and hire a real management team with a realistic plan for a change. I'd rather a rebuild so we can be in the mix every year like Tampa instead of retooling b.s and a bigger tougher team
  16. I'd be ok with not seeing Dermott again this season as long as he gets back in the line-up come training camp. We're the last team that needs to rush anyone back in. T.D. is a quiet steady Dman who makes very few mistakes.. Could use a cpl more like him and in the pipeline too, scoring isn't our main issue, getting scored on normally is.
  17. The worst trade he did was Schenn, how stupid could you possibly be? One of the best, toughest, bottom pairing D in the entire league. Like wtf? Oh yeah, We need to be more creampuff
  18. We need a rebuild, re-tool is the last thing we need, a full on rebuild is needed. Anyone not named Demko can be let go for the right price, Thatcher still capable of becoming one of Vancouver's best goalies ever, bubble Demko edition showed that.
  19. That would have been true IF Tanev had been 5-7 years younger at least and without his injury list being 30 miles long...
  20. With this management that will be for a longggggg time and add franchesco to that and that writes it in stone...
  21. Seems to me it would be both, seeing the value in keeping everything simple, especially in systems with so many changes in players in and out (like it's been for years) could only help things and it's a huge problem for us that still sucks badly, it's been like that for awhile now and Bruce was the only person who kind of addressed because he had to or he'd have done as well as Greener who over complicated everything that did the team a disservice and himself that finally got him fired. Why didn't it continue with Bruce, as in coaching that out of them by making the quickest easiest way of a play vs hesitation, looking for a deeper play, i.e. stretch passes instead of to whoever is closer and unchecked or more open. And if it doesn't stop, no matter who comes in we will always be fighting a uphill battle and having to rely on our goalies standing on their heads, which only works for so long. Will a bench boss ever push to change it? Maybe, maybe not.. until then? Well more of the same.
  22. How so?! We still hang on to the puck too long and make bad decisions with it, and then typically lose it. Until Tocchet get the team to use the path of least resistance I have next to zero good to say about him. This has been a problem for years now, no quick short passes to guys who are open, we hang onto it to long, the other team reads it easily and we turn it over, A LOT! Bruce had it right when he first arrived, he kept it simple and we played that version well and strung wins together and we almost made the playoffs but fell short.. That's what I mean, until we get back to that style until we're all on the same page, it's going to be more of the same.
