Willander was my #2 pick behind Simashev.
Think about it. Playing in North America this year. Smaller rink, figure out angles quicker. More time to get to the gym... Flawless skater, very good vision, elite puck carrier, good first pass, calm with the puck and very good gap control and positioning in neutral and defensive zone coverage.... What is there not to like?
So in 2-3 years Hughes-Willander top pair. Sounds awesome to me!!!

Podz will be the breakout player on this team this year. I don't expect him to force a spot on the big team out of the gates, for game one of the season. But he'll get his chance, before Christmas and he won't look back. Watch... He's a beast... And about to take the league by storm!!!

Not all qualities are the same but my point, is his drive, determination, and IQ will give him a legit chance to make this team... In a very similar way burrows did. He may not be as much if a shit disturber as burrows but wouldn't be surprised if he adds that element to his this season. Would be a superb story!

Sounds like Baines could turn out to be our new burrows? Just needs to be given an opportunity. Compete and IQ are elite.

I don't think Vegas or either Seattle/Dallas can beat Carolina/Florida.
If Hill can continue to play well... I think at this point, Vegas could take out Florida or Carolina. Better defence and have played deep into the playoffs 4 out the 5 past years.... With the same core plus complementary additions along the way.

It's devastating for teams who are this deep in the playoffs to lose. It's sooo much easier to be out of the playoffs judging others, it's incredible difficult to do what Oilers did this deep in. Good on them for getting this far and it absolutely is painful to lose.

Watching him, he looks like a very good poacher who tips pucks in, and pounces on turnovers very well. So I always have a tough time projecting those types of players.

Mental health break... Seriously. He feeds off negativity... Badge of honour for him. Just a waste of my day going there, trying not to react to his stick. I don't even listen to that station anymore. All quality and integrity gone.... Especially when he has his own show there. I just shake my head and move on.
