  1. Florida does' not need a Center. They already have Bjustad, Barkov, Pirri and Trochrk. What they need are defenseman and a Top 6 winger.
  2. I wouldn't want to see it go that far either. Just enough to show that what comes around, goes around.
  3. Who's Dale Woodley? Unless you meant Dan Woodley. Alek Stojanov was a excellent pick only because it got us Markus Naslund.
  4. Wishful thinking. I say he gets no points. Called it!
  5. You know, I once wrote this and I got banned by Moderators for a week and giving a warning point. FYI.
  6. Yes it does. the $800,000 retention salary will count towards Vancouver Canucks salary cap until 2022. And if Luongo retires before then, it will even hurt Canucks cap situation even more.
  7. There's no way either one of those guys will want have to do anything with being a GM with its current ownership. Look at the circus that's going on in Buffalo too. No wonder Pat Lafontaine quit. And NYI? Snow is to Gillis is Wang for Aquilini. We needed someone like Tallon who is able to convince management that inorder to get better, you need to make bold positive moves, unlike the bold Aquilini bonehead moves the Canucks have made the last two seasons. If Gillis wants to save his reputation, he needs to stand up to Aquaman or simply quit and hand over the sinking ship to the captain of the Titanic.
  8. Islander have the same problem. Garth Snow is Gillis and Charles Wang is Aquilini.
  9. The poster was saying that 4 of our last 5 1st Round Draft picks were on centers. They are Cody Hodgson, Jordan Schroeder, Brendan Gaunce and Bo Horvak. The mention of the other 3 were the inclusion of other centers the team has which is why the poster was stressing that trading for another center is moot.
  10. That I agree with. With AV being the players type of coach and not say anything to having a controlling and manic coach, it's like night and day. Too bad we don't have one that's more like in between.
  11. I don't think Edler has that killer instinct to take it up a notch. The talent is there. We all saw it before and we all called him the next coming of Lidstrom. But then he tried to get pretty with the puck with all those inane drop passes and it came to bite him in the backside. If anything, Edler is lacking confidence and the killer instinct. Maybe his soft demeanor has something to do it but this season, getting yelled at by Torts all the time would kill anyone's confidence.
  12. 1. Luongo may not have directly asked for a trade but he implied it by saying he's willing to waive his no-trade clause if it meant helping the team upgrade. He said this after the playoffs and the fact that he lost his playoff starts as well. 2. What goalie doesn't want to play every game? In fact, which pro player likes riding the pine or being scratched for a game or doesn't mind just playing less than 5 minutes a game? No one. 3. Management would have you hear that they are just giving Luongo rest time because of jet lag after the Olympics or they are going with the hot hand. I don't buy either. Luongo I'm certain would have liked to played more in the Olympics but had to suck it up and not say anything. He got snubbed in the Olympics he would have been really motivated for the Heritage Classic. It's something he really wanted to play in. He was looking forward to it all season. It's not like he's some journeyman goalie. Luongo is an elite and well respected goalie (except maybe in Vancouver. Heck, they even booed Lack).
