    If greed wins the day and the NHL expands to 36 teams. That might be it for me. I see nothing but disaster with that. Short term gain for long term headaches. And Vancouver will never win a cup.

    4 teams with the generous expansion rules? It will destroy existing teams rosters.

      I'm not so opposed, though I'm also not eager for expansion. I imagine there were a lot of fans from the original six days who were intensely opposed to the 1967 expansion too and felt similarly.

      I used to be up until 2 or 3am most nights, sometimes even 4am. I'd probably still be up until 1:30am every morning if I didn't have to work at 8:30 during the week.

    i wouldn't mind if the canucks gave up a 3rd round pick for logan thompson.

    he could fight out between between silovs and martin for back up.

    by all reports he has an excellent future. perhaps silova an thompson  would be a good tandem someday.  he makes less than 800,000 this season.

      If I had to pick, I've always gone with Ottawa as my 2nd favourite, but honestly, if I had to allocate "favouritsm points", it'd be like this:

       

      Canucks: 98

      Senators: 1
      Everyone else combined: 1 

       

      I don't really have a second favourite team. Once the Canucks are out of the playoffs, I don't care about NHL hockey much anymore. I follow it as a fan of hockey history to see historical moments, but I don't care about who wins or loses for the most part.

    So. Any predictions where Connor Bedard will finish this year? I'm going to be massively conservative and say 50-60 Points. Anything above that is gravy. It's quite the jump from WHL to NHL. I'm not saying he isn't super talented. But you got to learn the ropes in the NHL.

      I'm predicting 90 points and I could see 100. If Hughes and Makar can approach a point a game as rookie defensemen, Bedard can do better as a potentially generational forward.

      Most positive reactions, specifically. Some reactions such as "Wat", "Sad", and "Rough Game" don't give you positive reputation. I think all the other ones do, but I could be wrong.

    Canucks should be a 3rd place/1st wild card spot team this year if they can stay healthy, If they can manage to be around .500 in October with that crazy schedule they're in great shape, anything bonus is gravy on top

    What’s the earliest others here been doing some serious drinking?

    Got to have had a good nights sleep too, before the drinking starts. Can’t just drink late and keep going. 
    I know it’s only 10 am but a good bottle of Scotch sure is tasty before noon!

      I don't think we add any more wingers. Already too many. The question of who's out will probably depend on possible trades and the pre-season.

    Hockeyfeed (don't know how reliable a source this is) is reporting that Rogers wants to cut costs next season and that Ron McLean may be out. Be still my beating heart. Now if only they canned Simpson and Galley, my perfect circle of happiness would be complete.

      I don't mind a lot of the other guys that much, but I certainly don't like McLean. Oake doesn't have the character issues, but is just weirdly dry and awkward.

    Just met/had a lovely chat with iMac in Tim Horton's (of course it was there...hockey door handles!). He's as nice as he seems. I was quite thrilled to meet him as he's my favourite of all the people who cover the team.

    Big day coming up, Canucks have a chance to potentially draft a massive part of their d-core in the 2nd or 3rd most loaded draft in 100 years, Simashev, Reinbacher, Sandin-Pelikka and Willander all possibilities, while a stud forward like Benson could fall to 11. Danielson is another possibility

      Tanev is worth every penny for a 15-20 point pace. He's one of the best defenders in the league. My only hesitancy with bringing him in is his age relative to where we are as a team and our current goals.
