  1. I tend to agree. I also prefer the more personalized format of the forums, where you get to know users, how they post, and their opinions. Reddit puts in so much effort to minimize the uniqueness of each user that they sort of all blend into one blur of voices.
  2. Biggest by quite a large margin. I suspect the Canucks reddit has since surpassed it in terms of general community sizes though. Don't think it could hold a candle to our community quality though.
  3. It's been an amazing ride, everybody. I've called this place my hockey home for over 13 years and I've been incredibly lucky to help out with an amazing staff group for about half of that time as well. I'm sure I'll see you guys again. Canuck fans have a way of finding each other.
  4. Agreed. He'll almost certainly score fewer goals, but I expect him to shoot more to make some of that up. A 30-goal projection isn't out of line. If Petey scores more, he could also get more assists and push for 70 points.
  5. Not confirmed, but I'd bet on either Dave Tomlinson or Ray Ferraro.
  6. I don't see a spot for him, but I'd love for him to prove me wrong. His play last year is between 13th forward and top six AHL. We'll see if he has another level or if he's already at his ceiling.
  7. Petey, and it's not that close. Both players are comparable offensively, but Petey has a notable edge defensively, at least for now.
  8. It's worth of note that Blueger's contract is only one year. The plan may be to give Aman a year to stew in Abby to see if he takes a big step in a big role there, especially in face-offs and other defensive metrics. Doing so may earn him the 4C spot behind Suter for 2024-25.
  9. Would love to see if he can grab a top 6 spot in Abbotsford and be a key player.
  10. Imagine if we made Demko an official alternate with an A.
  11. I believe Myers was an alternate last year, but maybe they'll strip him of that. We'll see. I could see them going with Petey, Miller, and Myers all as alternates.
  12. 2nd Defenseman captain in team history. Kevin McCarthy was first before Smyl took over. Is well on his way to shattering most records for Canucks defenseman. EDIT: Lidster was actually the 2nd as a three-way co-captaincy with Linden, himself, and Dan Quinn.
  13. Tighter and shorter shorts also helps give that impression.
  14. At this point, it's hard not to see him as Jordan Subban 2.0 with slightly better defense.
  15. I personally think he's easily worth $11M+ right now. Top 10 scorer with a good two-way game? He's probably a top 5 centre in the league. I'd put him above every single centre you listed there and likely by a considerably margin too. He scores more and is better defensively than most, if not all of those centres. When comparing other contracts, inflation also needs to be taken into account--a contract from years ago isn't the same dollar value as today, especially with the anticipated big increase in cap coming this summer.
  16. Not sure I'd say he doesn't do the details. Goldobin also never came remotely close to scoring 39 goals, so there's a hug difference there too. If someone in the NHL signs him and he can score 30+ goals, then he's clearly gotten a lot better than since when we had him.
  17. I'd tend to disagree. I recall Archibald famously telling him "work, work, work!" on the bench during one game. Probably too much to glean from one comment though. Either way, lazy or unwilling to do the details required--both will keep you out of the NHL.
  18. Seems like a bargain unless he's not the player he was with us anymore.
  19. He's extremely skilled, but unless he's improved his work ethic, I don't believe he can make it in the NHL.
  20. Would be awesome for Abbotsford, but I'm not sure if he's willing to drop to that level.

Moving him to alumni since it's fairly obvious that he at least won't be starting the year on our team.
  22. He's my favourite player to watch on the team. He does so many little smart moves. Really a magician out there.
  23. I would wonder what this is based on. Travel schedule is easy to calculate, but strength of opponents is somewhat speculative at this point.
