  1. [Official] 2015-16 Utica Comets Thread

I'm actually kind of happy the home team won. Must have been nice for the fans and helped promote hockey over there a bit
  2. [Official] 2014-15 Utica Comets Thread.

You are my new best friend
  3. Jared McCann | C/LW

Jared Mccaan is like the really skilled player that went to the Mighty Ducks from their rival
  4. [Report] VAN interested in Ryan Miller

We all should be grateful that a star calibre player who isn't from here actually wants to sign with us. If we get Miller as a UFA, it increases the value of the Canucks asset pool at no cost besides cap space, And with the cap to increase as it is expected, we would be in good shape, even if we gave Miller $5,000,000 per year. Miller jumped to a new team last in the season and didnt adjust quick enough in the new system. I think with a full training camp and season, Miller will fit right in here. He's one of the few goalies who can steal games on a regular basis.
  5. [Rumor] Ryan Miller to Vancouver Thread

Miller in Vancouver during the start of free agency... Looks like there's a good chance for him to sign.
  6. [Trade] Sam Gagner dealt to AZ Coyotes

I get that they are trying to clear cap space, but I am really having a hard time understanding this... Why the hell did they not just trade purcell to someone for a 3rd or something? We gave Roland McKeowen for Linden Vey and a 3rd for Dorsett....
  7. [Rumor] Ryan Miller to Vancouver Thread

This, and if Miller doesn't pan out, we can trade him to a contender for a 1st round pick +
  8. Jared McCann | C/LW

I hope McCann turns into a Joe Pavelski
  9. Jake Virtanen | #18 | RW

I hope Virtanen turns into a Corey Perry
  10. [Draft] VAN selects Jake Virtanen 6th Overall

I think VIrtanen at 6 was too high, but I do believe he is a great prospect and am excited to see him bowl over people in Penticton.
  11. [Rumor] VAN Trade in Place for 1st Overall?

I really hope we end up drafting Reinhart... If we do get him, our chances at landing his brothers when they become UFAs drastically increases... It's not like Griffin and Max are playing for desirable organizations.
  12. [Rumor] VAN Trade in Place for 1st Overall?

6th + 24th + Shinkaruk for Reinhart is overpaying, but fair... Anything significantly more, Benning can tell Tallon to $#&@ himself...
  13. [Trade] Canucks Trade Luongo to the Panthers

I like Luongo, but: 2013 Luongo GAA = 2.38 Sv% = 0.917 Lack GAA = 2.05 Sv% = 0.926 2012 Luongo GAA = 2.56 Sv% = 0.907 Schneider GAA = 2.11 Sv% = 0.927 2011 Luongo GAA = 2.41 Sv% = 0.919 Schneider GAA = 1.96 Sv% = 0.937 Three seasons of being outplayed by another goalie with the same team infront of him doesn't look too good (and the differences in these categories are not small neither). I, for one, am stoked that we got Markstrom & Matthais in our system and and extra 3 million in cap space. If we still had Schneider, we'd still not be that much better, and if we still had Schneider, we would have lost Luongo for nothing since we couldn't trade his contract at the time. But instead, we have a blue chip prospect in Horvat, a blue chip goaltending project in Markstrom, and a serviceable young forward in Matthais and about $9 million in cap space. Poor handling of the goaltending situation i agree, but in regards to asset management, I would have to say that things could have ended up much worse, and now we actually have a glimpse of hope for the future.
  14. [Trade] Canucks Trade Luongo to the Panthers

http://iphone.tsn.ca/tsnpodcasts//tsnradio/PMMar4.mp3 Pierre Maguire's take on the trade. Sorry if this has been posted, but if you dislike the trade, this might help ease things a bit...
  15. Dane Fox | LW/C

I guess we'll see how well his game translates to professional hockey next year in Utica. It seems our undrafted signings have been more successful than our actual draft picks. I hope this one continues the trend. I, for one, am excited we have Fox in our system and hope he and Gauncer develop some insane chemistry so they can anchor our third line in the future.
