  1. Canucks Video Coaching Change

I'm guessing he is a Scrub that wasn't able to Capture needed contend with his Compressed schedule?
  2. Ryan Kesler Craig Janney Mark Messier Mike Keenan Mason Raymond And then hope the people in the bar kick their a$$e$?
  3. Reading up on Vilardi tonight and found a few things worth mentioning. From an article here - http://www.thewhig.com/2016/12/20/call-it-the-vilardi-wall-of-fame “Gabe not only eats, drinks and sleeps hockey, he’s one of the nicest kids from one of the nicest families I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with,” Windsor general manager Warren Rychel said of the slick center, a bonafide leader on the Memorial Cup-bound Spitfires. “You can tell that the parents raised their sons right, taught them well.” The parents promised to support their sons’ hockey careers, albeit with this caveat: “I say to them the day we tell you to train is the day we stop paying,” “Gabe is a coach’s dream,” said former CIHA head coach Guy Girouard, now Jim Hulton’s assistant with the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec major junior loop. “He was always looking to improve his game, whether he was stick-handling in the hallway, juggling, foam-rolling in the gym. “The only argument I had with him was getting him off the ice after practice.” Rychel concurred, aware that the Spitfires’ self-motivated spark plug is not one to cut corners. “He doesn’t cheat the game,” the GM pointed out. “You know what they say about the hardest working people working hardest when no one’s looking — that’s Gabe.” Whats not to like about this talented 6' 3" 200 lb self motivated workaholic? Maybe that he is a good skater and not a speedster, but Horvat has shown that skating can be improved.
  4. Drouin didn't play with the Mooseheads in 2014-15 Sure it's hard to compare them purely on scoring numbers, but scouts have to consider it anyways. Of course there are other things to consider like work ethic, speed, stick handling, Face Off win %, etc... But point production is one (if not, most important) component used in assessing value of most forwards in a draft. They have to go on available data, and point production along with advance stats is where you'd start. As for Vilardi, work ethic and drive will get you everywhere, and that is something he has in spades.
  5. I would pick Gabriel Vilardi simply due to work ethic and his drive. Here are a few things people who know him have to say about him Windsor coach Rocky Thompson What sets Gabe Vilardi apart is that he’s an advanced stats darling. Vilardi is “the engine on this team because whoever plays with him, their Corsi numbers go straight up and are increased.” Indeed, Thompson notes that said stats tend to drop off when they’re not playing with Gabe. The coach credits Vilardi with making his teammates even better. Mike Morreale of NHL.com Vilardi is an analytics wizard: “a puck-possessing workaholic with skilled hands and outstanding awareness.” Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro "He's the most hard-working guy I've ever been around," "All he wants to do is be a hockey player and everything he does is centered around the game. That's something I admire about him." As for Nolan Patrick, I have seen him play and while he is better than his competition, the gap isn't as big as you'd think given the praise he gets. I haven't seen this great speed they talk about but he certainly is bigger. The comparison to Anze Kopitar is apt. However, being bigger and stronger in junior doesn't always translate to the NHL. One of the oldest players in this draft as well as a history of injuries should be enough to question his #1 ranking. From McKenzie's pre-season ranking article on Sep 22, 2016 The consensus amongst scouts surveyed by TSN is that Patrick wouldn't have displaced any of the top four picks in last year's draft. Depending on the scout, they retroactively rank Patrick anywhere between No. 5 and 10 based on his 2015-16 season Having watched the World Juniors and seen most highlight packages on Nico Hischier, its clear the kids is very good, but seems more like a playmaker with good speed but not elite speed. Is he even in the same league as Nikolaj Ehlers? These are the stats from their draft seasons Season Player Team GP G A Pts 2014-15 Nikolaj Ehlers Halifax Mooseheads 51 37 64 101 2016-17 Nico Hischier Halifax Mooseheads 57 38 48 86 Leave it to the Canucks to possibly win one the most underwhelming NHL lottery in years.
  6. Do any of you going to these practices use Periscope? Apple/Android App store As long as there is wifi at the facility, you could stream the event live without any cost to you.
  7. Thread Titles 5 Years From Now?

Oilers win 1st pick for the 7th time in 9 years
  8. Jake Virtanen | #18 | Right Wing

There isn't much to dislike about JVs game, but he needs to take his puck pursuit game to the next level. I'm liking the Jeff Carter comparison too.
  9. Bo Horvat Talk

Gooseberries, do you know if this anger was carried over from the previous game?
  10. Bo Horvat Talk

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/jrhockey-buzzing-the-net/london-knights-windsor-spitfires-wild-line-brawl-ohl-131448075.html There is a report here if you're interested. Windsor Spitfires' Cristiano DiGiacinto was suspended too. Crazy game
  11. [PGT] Meltdown/Collapse

Gillis brought this team to rock bottom with the shovel of stupidity.
  12. You know you're an old school Canuck fan when

You remember the Pacific Coliseum being built in the late 60s
  13. This self entitled country club mentality is Gillis' vision. I seriously doubt he is going to bring in a coach that will disturb this "Winning Culture" he has spent the past 6 years building. I think the new coach will be AV 2.0
  14. Jannik Hansen

    Obviously a troll post!. lol
