  1. [PGT] Nashville Predators vs. Vancouver Canucks

No heart on this team without Bo
  2. [Rumor] Canucks shopping for top 9 forward

If the picks/prospects are used to bring in other young players, I don't mind. I'm wondering, now that Jimbo has depth on the team and prospect pool, if we see a big trade this season/offseason. The one thing that stopped us from landing Reinhart/Kane/Subban was the trade prices leaving us bare in the cupboards, but I'm thinking something could be worked out now. I know others don't want us to trade prospects at all, but I'm sure JB has his future core penciled in on his wall, and everyone else should be fair game as chips to use as long as the player(s) we receive are young enough to make us better now and in the future. Wonder what Kane + Reinhart would cost us, probably too much together.
  3. Disagree about the didn't improve last year part, he was put in more defensive situations and still managed to put up the same amount of points while losing the top 3 forwards on the team who all put up over 100 points the draft year season. That's a lot of potential points gone. I think we should all cut him some slack and not judge him too harsh over one bad preseason, he just wasn't ready yet and still has the potential to be a great defenceman.
  4. How are the picks % of the players picked before a team's pick even relevant to the situation at all.. I was on the draft Ehlers bandwagon during the draft in 2014 btw, and I didn't care who we picked from Juolevi/Sergachev as long as it was a d-man. I saw what JB saw in Jake, a kid with potential to be a Iginla/Doan impact. It's hard to guess 18 year olds and he could still develop into a solid player. If you redo that draft, that whole top 5 changes with 3/4 of the players getting pushed out of the top 5. But then again, in 10 years maybe not. Hindsight is 20/20.
  5. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Winnipeg Jets

Fun fact: Virtanen is the only other Canucks to score other than Boeser in the last three games. #help
  6. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Winnipeg Jets

So jelly of Winnipeg's top 6, they got size, speed and skill. On to the next one.
  7. Lmao, with that logic, Megna was a first line NHL right winger last season! Yeah, don't put words in my mouth, every player develops differently, literally. If you think Mete is better than Juolevi I really don't have more to say. Getting an impact player at 6 is the goal, but once again, hindsight is 20/20. I'm not comparing Benning to Gillis, I'm comparing him to every GM past and present in the league, the amount of picks he's hitting is really good.
  8. You're comparing two franchise caliber prospects picked 1 and 2 to Juolevi. Didn't know 13 points in 30 games was first line centre production. Poolparty's been between AHL and NHL and is very up and down in his play. Tkatchuk, Keller, McAvoy and Sergachev are all solid picks picked after and making impacts right now, but remember, it isn't about who makes the show first, it's about the long-run. Juolevi's developing well, let him keep getting better and come in prepared to make an impact when he does. I've posted about this before, but you gotta realize, although it seems Jake isn't the best pick we could've made, at least he's developing into a solid NHL player who could make an impact on our team. EVERY team has their hits and misses at the draft, hindsight is 20/20. Benning is not inconsistent at drafting, polar opposite actually, he's drafting at least two (or potentially 2) NHL players per draft, that's extremely good drafting. Heck, he drafted 5 NHL players in his first draft. If you wanna prove a point, at least be realistic about it.
  9. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Calgary Flames

No pushback whatsoever. Gaunce - Chaput - Virtanen were great. Goldy instead of Gagner please. Dowd was meh when he played.
  10. Alexander Burmistrov | #42 | C However, with Sutter and Dowd on the roster horizon, his lineup days could again be numbered. “The frustrating thing is you know you can play at this level and every day and every night you walk into the dressing room and you don’t know if you’re playing or not,” said Burmistrov. “You kind of want to know you’re playing or be sure to be confident in yourself and feel like you’re part of the team. “Then you walk into the dressing room and you’re not playing and you’re thinking: ‘What is it going to be like tomorrow?’ I’m trying to work hard but this is hard. “And the worst thing is to see Bo hurt and then you’re back in, but you basically didn’t earn that spot.” I've waited for him to change my mind, but I haven't been impressed with Burmistrov at all this season, except for that one game where he scored a few points. Yeah he's a decent depth player to cover for injuries but that's about it. I feel like plays constantly die on his stick and he always makes that extra move that's unnecessary. Not overly impressed with this quote either. I can see Dowd pushing Burmistrov off the team once Bo and Sutter are back.
  11. Canucks Game Experience is Awful

Is there anything we can do about this? Like an online petition, letter or something that would actually catch the attention of someone higher up to make a change? The lack of atmosphere because of fans being told to quiet down is super annoying.
  12. Trade between Pens and Canes.
  13. [PGT] Carolina Hurricanes vs. Vancouver Canucks

  14. Nikita Tryamkin | D

I feel like many are really overthinking this. Kid was 21, got married, moved to a new country and didn't have the best experience he was probably hoping for here in NA. I don't blame him, he had the option to move back to his country, get paid, play an increased role, and be comfortable in his surroundings, who wouldn't say yes to that? As for the Pronger topic, it all depends on the approach. It's not bad to watch video and ask a player to improve a certain aspect, but to ask them to be someone they aren't is unacceptable. We don't know the conversations behind the scenes, so it's unfair to say. The thing I love most about Greener is he understands communication with every player is different. To play every player at their strengths, and that teaching varies depending on the person because everyone learns/develops differently. If Nikita comes back, he would round out our left side quite nicely, here's hoping he does.
  15. [PGT] Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vancouver Canucks

Best game I've seen Edler play in about 5 years.
