is that where teams pick their players from under the tree?

  2. Mich Marner would be a very good pick up for Canucks! But what does the maple leafs want in return? We can start with Virtanen, Tanev ....??? Man  Canucks don’t have much assets to make the deal! JB if you can pull a bunny out of your @$$. You’d be the greatest magician of all! Get ur done JB

Virtanen and Tanev isn't even a starting point for Marner. It would be like them offering Brown and Ozhiganov for Pettersson. Replace Virtanen with Boeser and Tanev with Hughes. Not going to happen!

      Pettersson. So no.

  3. Rumours that the Canucks might try and move up in the draft to six place with Detroit moving down to tenth place! Detroit May be looking to draft a goalie and may be confidant that the top goalie will still be there at tenth place. The question is, who is the Canucks targeting at sixth place? Get ur done JB

Looking at recent drafts it cost a 3rd round pick to move up 3-4 spots in the late first round. This means it would likely cost us a 2nd round pick. I'd only do that deal of Byram was still on the board, which is probably not going to happen.

      @canucklehead44

Not collecting draft picks during a rebuild is one of the biggest criticisms JB gets (from me for sure).  We can't afford to give up picks in the first three rounds.  We don't have extra.

I agree 100% @Alflives . JB has not done a great job acquiring picks, moving up in drafts, or stockpiling prospects in trades.

The few times he did acquire picks/prospects he kind of blew it. We got a second for Jason Garrison then he flips the pick for Vey. We trade Burrows for a good prospect in Dahlen and flip him for a C prospect in Karlsson. 1st round pick for Kesler, trades for Gudbranson. 2nd round pick for Bieksa, trades in Sutter deal etc.

I'd much rather move down 3-5 spots than up. At 13-15 one of Broberg, Soderstrom, or Seider should still be available. That could land us an extra 3rd and maybe another later round pick.

  4. Tyson Barrie would be an excellent pick up. We may have a good chance signing him! He’s Canadian and he’s from Victoria and only 27 yrs of age. Shoots right and he scored 14 goals and 45 assists in 78 games last season. Good offensive player. Hopefully he wants to return closer to home. Get ur done JB.

Just heard Dhaliwal saying the Canucks are aggressively pursuing him. He still has one year left on his deal, so we'd have to trade for him, but he'd definitely be a great fit. I don't think he would come cheap though!

Your right! It’s time for the Canucks to take some chances though. This would be a good pick up! Plus we fans need a little bit of excitement in our lives just about now.

  5. I sort of wished Canucks would have lost every game in feb and March! Just to get Jack!
  6. Oh yes Artemi Panarin and we do have Goldy already. Idi Rossiya Idi-translation-Go Russia Go!
  7. Is Canucks only interested in Nikita Zaitsev to try and lure Nikita Tryamkin? Would the Canucks lean on Zaitsev to be an interpreter to help Tramkin get accustomed to west coast life? Da ili net?-tranlation-yes or no? What do you think?
  8. Is Canucks only interested in Nikita Zaitsev to lure Nikita Tryamkin back? Speculation

      More the merrier @Mount-Canuck-More

If Zaitsev could create a Russian connection here, then maybe we get more than Tryamkin?  Maybe we draft young Podkolzin too?

Sorry I took so long to reply! I was restricted. I’m sort of leery of Canucks drafting Russians. They don’t seem to stick around the nhl.

  9. Good move JB. I still wanted to see Dahlen play with Pettersson. Oh well Dahlen bolted back to sweden. Forever Jaded
