It is pretty funny when a lot of Leafs fans still complaining about the officiating while us Canucks fan all know the officials are crooked since 2011.

It looks promising that we would see an Oilers-Leafs Cup Final. That would be Bettmen's nightmare, and good that the Cup is finally back in Canada. The rest I don't care anymore. Maybe I will never watch TSN/Sportsnet if the Leafs won.

I don’t see any facts that support your argument about good teams coasting and bad team tanking, but I did see the Canucks play better defensively since the coaching change. The big concern we Canucks fan have should be can they sustain this at the beginning of next season, not the slimmest chance of landing first overall. Because with the core we have, we should be good enough to challenge every team on a nightly basis.

The Kings are fighting for 1st in the Pacific Division. Actually a lot of the Playoffs teams are still fighting for position in the standing to get home-ice advantage, so I do not see how they would not "empty the tank" against bottom-feeder like the Canucks in the middle of March.

Why would anyone think tanking can get the Canucks first overall pick? In the 2016 Draft The Jets finished higher than the Canucks and they ended up selected 2nd overall, which turned out to be Patrik Laine. So given the luck of this franchise I would not cheer for tanking hard for Bedard.

People need to remember from Day 1 Rutherford got the job, he never committed to a rebuild, and in his several news conference he reiterated that even the team needs a major surgery, but they are going to do a retool instead of a rebuild. They are going to bring in young players in their mid-20s from other teams. That is their plan all along, nothing more, nothing less, and they stick to that plan in this year trade deadline. That's why I think they did a good job, but I am disappointed as a Canuck fan. Especially after they traded away that conditional pick to Detroit for Flip Hronek. There is no way one could justify this deal one way or the other.

They are so desperate to get out of the first round.
