  1. Hmmm.. bummer Was my favorite way to slam the Vancouver media for it's bush league ways! It was fun though! Can you imagine a rash of injuries to other teams top players and the miracle of a cup arrives in Vancouver this season?! Ok so never going to happen but wouldn't that be the poster for ironic?
  2. Last season was a anomaly for us as it would have been to any team losing so many D men from the get go and facing high end offensive players like Crosby, McD, Drais, etc etc. and not being able to, started the ball rolling downhill and gave up trying. This is why we can't stop picking and developing our own D so it doesn't happen again. I laugh when the media can't get it right and saying it was just a bad start, yeah right!
  3. At the beginning of last season, well possibly preseason games and I don't remember who called the game or he was colour commentator but I liked him and he did a good job, maybe on of the abby game staff? No idea but seemed professional at it, hope he gets JG's job!
  4. Klim is going to argue that.. he's still my dark horse since he was drafted, he had to round out his game which is clearly obvious he has, and RT is going to love having Klim on the roster soon to finish molding him. We need Klim to be a replica of how RT played, and we should be happy he wasn't thrown into the NHL right away but seasoned properly so he didn't end up 1 dimensional! Mark my words, Klim is going to be a force out there and other players had better be skating with their heads up or else suffer the consequences big time, and we need more of that so I'm definitely looking forward to it.
  5. I miss the days of having one of the most formidable fighters in the league, ask McSorely about him! Lmao, there's a hint! Edit: we don't have a fighter on the team really.. the toughest guy we've had since was Tryamkin, could he fight as well as most tough guys? Idk BUT he was tough to be sure, especially when he was pissed off at the Dallas stars, that was fun to watch, he was really throwing punches though, he was throwing around their players who challenged him like little rag dolls!
  6. No I buy and sell from Richie Brothers Auction, they're a lot more reliable to want him as a poster boy... Just saying!
  7. Definitely a STEAL! 1.6? Yes please! Could we see him potting 20 with Hogs n Pods? Yeah maybe, but if not, but if not, think that would be because lack of experience from H&P simply put, nothing again either, still very young and need more seasoning but if it takes a season of that line playing together to achieve that then the season after should net a lot better results including Suter getting 20 goals..
  8. Well like every year, key injuries to top players can drop like rocks and it happens a lot but I think we have enough depth to pull off 15th and give call ups a good look to see where they are in their development curve. So regardless we're a team that could benefit from injuries in that way, which for us isn't normal, we've hardly ever had a farm producing enough for that but now we do.. Yeah we might not make mid pack but we've been retooling for so long trading picks away out of necessity to ice a decent seasonal team. However I still believe in 2 seasons will be the optimum time for a serious run as our young guys move up with more experience so their not shoved into something their not ready for. ESPN would never take this into account now or then with any team, they simply wouldn't look that deep usually. Whatever though right? They were in the camp of how we got ripped on JT and would be a good 3rd line guy we paid 5 mil for and was labelled a Benning mistake, comes in and first year in ends up 1 goal behind OV at half the cost. Personally I think 26th is ridiculous but if we revisit this at the end of the season, they'll be looking as clueless as the JT bit.. It's the media, the more I saw it over the years the more I noticed a lot of uneducated b.s. that sounded good but full of holes to the point of hilarity! And people still follow it to this second as if it's the gospel truth... Anyway, same ole hey?!
  9. I believe they're thinking is based on last year's horrid start but they don't seem to put much stock in better D now this year and nor taking RT's ability to help us turn it around further as we got going at the end of last season like BB the year before. I think they just take the safe bet in their eyes that last year was normal and didn't take the string of injuries that hit us before we even got started into account but then they'd have to actually do a lot more homework on each team before throwing out a number... Sounds like the spewing of b.s. canucksarmy writers come up with but it's hard to tell which is worse sometimes, I think ESPN takes the cake this time, might be TSN next time, who knows?!
  10. I think the best thing for us already happened and I doubt RT will let that happen again IF he wants to keep his job that is because if it happens again it'll be blamed on him of course
  11. Well that's half of the NHL or more, picture the oilers without McD as a example, without him I doubt they make the post season at all.
  12. Demko rocks the show and wins the Vez, the rest of the team starts to play a lot better defensively, we don't score anymore goals than last year but we make it into the playoffs because we only allow half the goals against us as last year and easily make the post... P.S. That's me mocking the Vancouver media as they've been saying we won't score any more than last year and we won't make it in.. I disagree with that, I think we'll easily score another 30-40 goals anyway. Wish we could trade Vancouver media for some skilled writing for a change, not brainless b.s. they spew as always.
  13. $17,000,000 to put up with Toronto and their fans? I'd demand them agreeing to a counter offer of $20 Million and perks!!! Limosene service everywhere so you don't have to drive the Indy 500 to games and practices, I mean the 401 sorry.. and a luxury suite.. and... and.. and... If it was me, I'd take less to play somewhere else! Anywhere else!!! Wait.. scratch that! Same applies to the Flames! Ok anywhere else other than T.O. and CGY, why CGY too? Well long time canucks fans will understand why that is, but the Flames suck regardless...
  14. We have lousy luck with D injuries and it's been like that for years and honestly our D depth isn't that good and sorry if a 2 on 1 is going the other way, whoever can physically get back, F or D, it's a team D game that we've been sorely lacking for that very reason, but just because we have "some" depth, it's arguable about the quality, we don't have enough to go toe to toe in a Stanley cup run with the big teams and that's nothing new. If we keep on the track of getting more, then that may change but for now, it's still not good enough. Wish it weren't so but that's the reality of it, for now anyway. Hopefully that will change soon enough.
  15. Well as flamed as I'm going to be for saying this, I'm still iffy about him with his wrist and back.. as I'm sure teams are aware of but if he does turn on the afterburners blazing and we trade him for a top D prospect/s and save cap that way then I'm happy, and then there's Garland.. Both redundant now, however we can't stop loading up on D picks and prospects or the core, build to this point, and the effort will be for nothing.. we already know where lack of D and depth have got us in the past and it does NOT need repeated, if we'd have had D depth in 94 and 2012 we would have had 2 cups.. Enough is enough already!
  16. How did you know?! Followed closely by TSN
  17. From the way too early to tell edition by ESPN, which is certainly true but they ranked us @ 26th overall... So that being said, where do you think we'll be, in a small range even, I'm saying 13th-17th, probably my thoughts as 15-16 more like it but you get the idea, thoughts and reasons for your way to f'n early to tell edition! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/37852283/nhl-power-rankings-2023-24-golden-knights-panthers-bruins%3fplatform=amp
  18. That sounds about right, which the city of Vancouver loves because they tax off it and then the fees on everything get passed down the line too... And forcing everyday working people to live in RV's or whatever they can sleep in, go to a rec center, have a shower and then to work, and even the full amount of rent and damage deposit is a big amount to pay all at one time and if you have a bad credit rating from something happened years ago, another strike against, and the worst of all, the city has a lot of tax foreclosed properties just sitting there that could be fixed up and sold but that would bring down property tax or at least keep it level-ish if they kept supply away from the markets while demand keeps it going up and then they get raises etc. That's why they begrudgingly fork over some tiny amount on public affordable housing and pay themselves on the back in PUBLIC pretending they're doing their part but in the end it just makes city offices extremely well paid while it forces homelessness and those same people we need working in jobs in Vancouver are leaving for more affordable places to live. Thing is, city and the bc government just don't care unless they get pushed.. you know the election promise gig... ummm more like b.s. but at the end of the day it's spread across the country. Unless the housing market crashes hard, I doubt it will ever change much.
  19. Interesting read: https://futurism.com/the-byte/drone-soars-like-bird-no-power
  20. Yeah I know that one actually, I used to be a total WW2 buff, I never was any good at flying RC planes really but had friends who were pretty good but I think most were Cessna's that they had but I did see a show with a guy who had a monster sized ME 109 that was pretty frickin cool!
  21. They used to be called RC helicopter and evolved from there... Creative, that's for sure! A.I. is going to be a game changer too.. well already is in some ways but expect by leaps and bounds as technology steps up faster and faster.
  22. Well it's not a stretch to picture the Irish temper coming out here and there in the first place..
  23. Probably? Uh uh.. he was scrappy! He had no problem with swinging his mitts!
  24. That's the combination of the 2, faster fore checking rosters with added toughness mixed in but both times we didn't have any depth but if we ever have that again AND depth, only then can we have the best shot at winning a cup but we sold the farm out so much, depth was a myth in favour of a good seasonal team but I guess for now, it is what it is, I just hope JR keeps our picks so we don't have to have so many FA's as we've had over the years..
  25. Yeah Korab was one tough, mean mofo... And we could use 2 of him.. one for Huggy and one for Hronek.. we should have done that with the Twins exactly when Carter left, i think we even tried Bert with the twins but He and Nazzy had mad chemistry and the "try" was dropped and that's the reason I was so pissed off at the signing of LE, if he had to been a Korab type, we could have got a lot more out of the twins than we ever did but did we learn a.lesson from it? Not really, the best shot we had was Tryamkin, I'll hate willy D for years for that and management too. Tryamkin should not have seen the ice until he was used to the speed but his skating saved him a bit but maybe AL and JR can pull one of a hat so to speak but I doubt it. I hope so but not holding my breath..
