  1. I feel bad for the dude, I can't blame him for trusting his parents. Management should really set up their young players with a CFA so they can make some sound investing decisions early in their careers. Like you said, a relatively steady fund of Canadian financials, focusing on dividend paying stocks would set them, and their entire families' up for life.

Read a few posts up, Sid covered it in detail.

Thanks for the correction Sid, my mistake.

I think you're right, contracts don't slide in the AHL. The only way this would matter is if he doesn't make Utica next year and is back in the WHL.
  5. pc help if possible

Sounds like you've got to the bottom of the issue. Be mindful of the PC's placement too. Not on carpet, not next to any home heating vents, not up against any walls. You'll want cool air available on all sides.

  7. I can't get past the entire premise of the new trillogy. The New Republic was the dominant military and goverment in the galaxy after the events of Return of the Jedi. The last Executor class SSDs had all been hunted down and destroyed. How does this "First Order" group build new capital class ships, new SSD sized dreadnaughts, and turn an entire planet into a super death star without the New Republic noticing? The dialog was stale and the acting left a lot to be desired in the prequel trilogy, but at least it had continuity and explained the politics. This trilogy just says "forget all the victories the Rebel Alliance won in the original movies, events are resetting to a dominant Empire or "First Order" and we're starting at episode 4 again." Edit: I know Disney scapped everything that happened in novels/games post Return of the Jedi, but they don't offer an alternative explination for how a new group with the resources and technology of the old Empire comes to power and destorys the New Republic with a single shot from their new death star.
  8. ^^ detailed breakdown of his bonuses Interesting to note that a Calder win would be a league funded bonus, and not affect the Canucks cap.
  9. I'm really impressed with his ability to consistantly produce points after losing Bo and moving to Gagner's wing.
  10. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Montreal Canadiens

Man, are we going to have an 80 point rookie?
  11. Your 2011 memories

I was at a friend's house watching that game. He'd just had a big family dinner so the room around the TV was packed. After Toews scored, no one spoke, it seem like no one even breathed it was so quiet. When Burr took the penalty in OT you could feel the tension in the room, and the collective relief when we killed it off. When Burrows ended it the whole room jumped at once, my friend's grandmother started crying. She was overcome by how happy the whole family was. We cracked a big bottle of champagne and celebrated by watching the game highlights about 10 times.

I went to game 5 of the conference finals with a good friend. We were lower bowl, behind Lou's net for the odd numbered periods, had pretty much the same view as the camera for the game-winner. It was far enough away that I couldn't tell Edler tried to dump the puck and it hit the stantion, I though he just passed to Bieksa, but close enough to watch the puck bounce and trickle its way past Niemi. That building erupted, it was magical. We yelled until our voices wouldn't let us anymore and watched the trophy presentation. After the game we poured onto the streets, the mood was incredible, pure happyness and excitment. VPD had blocked off a few streets and were not enforcing open alcohol laws, the party was awesome. So long as you weren't being beligerant, you could high-five an officer with an open beer in the other hand. We saw a dark haired man with a chubby face in a Sharks jersey, looked just like Kyle Wellwood. He was getting called to "hey Kyle! Better luck next year" by many in the crowd. He was a good sport about it. After that it gets kinda fuzzy, woke up in our hotel around 10 the next day with a splitting headache. What a great night.
  13. Jim Benning's Trading

He had a great start to the season, but has been faltering lately.

To me, Subban is a #1 D no question about it. I'd put guys like Vlasic, Hamhuis (in his Vancouver days), Seabrook, Tanev etc in the top 2 D men category.
