  1. (Proposal) Canucks ~ Penguins

As a Penguins fan, no thanks. Acquiring Miller makes no sense. Murray is a legit number 1. Spending $6M on a guy to be a backup is lunacy. Especially when that cap space needs to be used elsewhere. Now acquiring Edler makes a hell of a lot of sense. Penguins D is garbage. No depth what-so-ever. Acquiring a top 4 left handed D in Edler would be perfect. Hansen would be a good addition as well, but up front is not a problem at all for the Pens. Tons of depth up there. To acquire Edler however, I wonder what they would be willing to give up. I wonder if Sprong/Guentzel plus maybe this years 1st are in play. I know the Penguins have traded like all of their firsts the last few years, but with this weak draft and the fact that they'll be around ~25, I wonder if they'll move it.
  2. Adam Gaudette | C

2 goals and 1 assist tonight. About 12 minutes left in the game.
  3. Brock Boeser | #6 | RW

    CANT STOP WONT STOP
  4. Brock Boeser | #6 | RW

BAM EDIT: No frig froggin idea why it says January 7th. Wat.
  5. Jake Virtanen | #18 | RW

He's being credited with goal as of now. http://theahl.com/game-summary?game_id=1016230 Regardless of if he gets credit or not, it's nice to see that he seems to be gaining his confidence back.
  6. Wow. Sounds like this guy needs to pull something out of his ass. I guess the Sedins are classless, and this guy is just the &^@#in best person to ever walk the earth. Yeah I get it. Your Dad beat you and Burrows said some $&!# about it. But to attack a whole city and a franchise over it? What a joke. &^@#in grow up.
  7. Loui Eriksson. Jesus f*** its been 14 games. Give him some time to adjust to his new team. I swear to god patience is like a long lost f****** art or something.
  8. Jesus Christ. Virtanen is 20 years old. What the hell. The way some of you people talk you make it sound like he's 27. From Benning's first draft there are 4 players already playing in the NHL. And that's not including some guy named Demko. The last time we had 4 players we drafted in a single draft play in the NHL was 2004. To be fair though, 2 of the ones from 2014 draft are playing for different teams. However McCann for Gudbranson, IMO, works in our favour. The Forsling one is a real head scratcher. But everyone makes mistakes. Bowman traded Daley for Scuderi last year. Even the best screw up. The next year he drafted some guy named Boeser. Gaudette is looking like one hell of a player as well from that draft. Briesbois isn't looking too bad either. But still too early to tell on some of these guys. Last draft we got Juolevi. He's going to be great. Lockwood has had one hell of a start to his NCAA career. Brett McKenzie, 7th round pick, is killing it early this year. Jury is still out on the other guys. Actually, jury is still out on everyone. CAUSE THEY'RE STILL TEENAGERS. Like Christ man. Patience. You can't expect rookies to play in the NHL when they're 18, or even 19/20 for that matter. Developing players takes time. You can't really call a single player that Benning has drafted a bust yet. They're still all so young. A lot of players don't play in the league until they've played time in the AHL for a couple years. None of the guys Benning has drafted has had the ability to do that. You have to be patient. Now how Virtanen is being handled is a whole other issue.

  10. Elliott Overrated?

I mean it is just one game so you gotta give him the benefit of the doubt. He's not as bad as he showed last night. That being said I never thought Elliot was that great of a goaltender. Playing with the Blues really inflated his numbers. And even with that team he couldn't get them to the Cup Finals let alone win them a Cup. Yeah I know it's a team game, but the goalie is arguably the most important position in the game. A goalie can win or lose you a game (see Dallas Stars). He's not a goalie who will lead you to a Cup or anything, he's just average. Now if the Flames had gone out and gotten Bishop then f*** me that would have been nuts. I also feel the same way about Anderson in Toronto. Except I'm not convinced that he's even an average goalie.
  11. Is the Youngstars game going to be on TV tonight?

@chon derry It starts at 7:30, I believe. Just keep an eye on Canucks.com. I'm sure they'll post a link to the Youtube stream on their main page.

Ya in one of the segments they did on the preview for the tournament on the main page, Joey Kenward says at the end they are streaming it on Canucks.com (so it will link to their Youtube channel).

      Okay cool. Thanks guys.

  12. (Poll) Who should be the next Alternate Captain?

I think Burr. Can't go wrong with several guys tho. We have quite a few character guys on this team.
  13. Mike Johnson fired from Sportsnet

Seems like I'm in the minority but I f****** couldn't stand the guy. I'm thrilled he's gone. He annoyed the ever loving crap out of me.
  14. Love that Ferraro and Duthie called him out on his bullsh!t.
  15. McDavid is obviously the next Captain of the Oilers. If he's not ready for it this year, then they'll simply do what Pittsburgh did with Crosby and not have a Captain until McDavid is ready to take the C.
