  1. Having Ovi definitely helps but their team is built on size and speed

  2. Benning should sign Balazs Sebok

  3. Bo Horvat | #53 | C

Thread is pretty quiet, I know the opposition hasn't been world class but its nice to see Bo showing he more than belongs with the calibre of players on his team. Bo has 30 goal 30-40 assist potential, with his 200ft play that is one heck of a first line centre. if Kesler improved to the point where he put up 40 goals, and back to back 70 point seasons I think Bo's potential is sky-high. I love using Kesler as a comparison as both of their games are built from the ground up meaning they learned to do the little things and play hockey the right way before trying to be to ambitious with their skill moves. Bo Horvat: Ryan Kesler D+3 40 points, 16 goals, 82 games D+3 23 points, 10 goals, 82 games D+4 52 points, 20 goals, 81 games D+4 16 points, 6 goals, 48 games D+5 44 points, 22 goals 64 games D+5 37 points, 21 goals, 80 games D+6 59 points, 26 goals, 80 games D+7 75 points, 25 goals, 82 games ( Career year ) D+8 73 points, 41 goals, 32 assists ( Career year ) Again same with Kesler, Horvat has shown progression and growth every single year. Comparing time lines I would be not be surprised to see a consistent range of 60-80 points for the next 5 years for Horvat, he will be a guy who is respected around the league and is a guy any team would have in their top 6.
  4. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

What was Wahlstrom projected to go going into the year?
  5. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

I feel like at 7 we are in a safe range where whoever falls to us will be a quality player, go back to 2001 and only 3 or 4 years the player selected at 7th overall hasn't been all-star calibre
  6. Well liked team-mate who you know can be a 20 goal guy for a potential attitude problem who may not turn out, I wouldn't risk it. Not opposed to moving Baer, has to be right trade though
  7. I could see Boqvist dropping to 10, Wahlstrom at 4 is definitely a slight stretch
  8. I hope Lawrence PIlut is on Bennings radar

The rumours are saying that the Sabres are signing him.

Seems to have signed with Buffalo -- http://buffalonews.com/2018/04/30/reported-sabres-signee-pilut-named-swedish-leagues-top-defenseman/

That said, I'm really intrigued by Joel Persson, Elias Pettersson's teammate, he's only 23. Could be a great under the radar signing considering Persson only made his SHL debut this season and held up nicely with Vaxjo this season. He's also garnered some NHL interest.

  9. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Some Real good players drafted 7th overall, In recent years: 2017 Lias Andersson 2016 Clayton Keller 2015 Ivan Provorov 2013 Darnell Nurse 2012 Matthew Dumba 2011 Mark Schiefle 2010 Jeff Skinner 2009 Nazem Kadri 2008 Colin Wilson 2007 Jakub Voracek 2006 Kyle Okposo 2003 Ryan Suter 2002 Joffery Lupul 1995 Shane Doan 1993 Jason Arnott In recent years almost every year the player selected has been all-star calibre, a lot of Dmen in that range to, this makes me very confident with Bennings scouting that the Canucks will find an elite player.

Think about how good they could be right now if they didnt screw up those 3 first round picks in a row a few years ago.

    3. HerrDrFunk

It's almost as if someone in the Boston front office was really good at finding excellent players in later rounds during the mid-late 00s

       to early 10s.

  14. Adam Gaudette | #88 | C

Even though I was definitely in the crowd of underrating him I would also take him over Gaunce. I love his effort I feel he's a bit like Hansen early is his career, with his speed being a double edged sword, way faster than has hands can keep up, but fast enough to fly around and be a great energy guy.
