  1. definition of a dark horse. Imo, Chatfield could surprise people, especially if the team runs into injuries (as usual).
  2. Virtanen Chatfield
  3. Boeser may be the most developed/mature of those players (along with EE) - wouldn't surprise me at all if he is in the running. My money would be on Chabot - although defensemen seem to rarely garner much consideration - I think he's the best young D on the cusp of the NHL.
  4. Boone Jenner – Leon Draisaitl - Mats Zuccarello Brock Nelson – Brian Little - Ryan Hartman Colin Wilson - Andrew Cogliano - Kevin Fiala Artturi Lehkonen - Austin Watson - Matt Puempel John Hayden - Tyler Motte - Mikka Salomaki Mark Giordano© - John Carlsson TJ Brodie - Travis Hamonic Oscar Klefbom - Stephen Johns Jordan Schmaltz - Brett Kulak John Gibson Joonas Korpisalo Portage La Prairie Dogs Nikita Gusev - Vladislav Kamenev - Cole Cassels Mark McNeil - Justin Bailey - Scott Kosmachuk Tanner Richard Ryan Pulock Thomas Chabot - Ville Pokka Jake Walman - Ethan Bear Parker Wotherspoon – Carl Neill Darcy Kuemper Jordan Binnington
  5. Always remember to Puck off.
  6. not the case with either example - Ekblad or Chychrun - both had NHL bodies when drafted. Juolevi should make the team when he's ready - a guy can get injured regardless of whether he's playing in the NHL, OHL, SEL - you don't rush young players that aren't mature, aren't strong enough, probably won't be durable enough - but otherwise, when they're ready they're ready and you can't hold them back for fear of an injury.
  7. No kidding. A few years ago it was pitchforks everywhere with the expectation that the team integrate some kids into the lineup. Near universal expectation that the likes of McCann and Virtanen should be on the roster. A year or two later, the hindsight superstars complaining that the team rushed the prospects. Reality is that the city would have been lit on fire again if those kids were assigned and the team had gone with veterans.
  8. No kidding. And people forget that, in addition to exchanging limiting clauses for more manageable cap hits, the team also had a core that were willing to take discounts to enhance the franchise's ability to contend. Context matters.
  9. Ekblad's concussions or Chychrun's knee have nothing to do with being "rushed" into the NHL. Injuries happen, period. Ekblad scored 39 pts as a rookie in the NHL. 1st overall - he was ready to play in the NHL, plain and simple. Juolevi should make the team when he's ready and earns it - "holding him back" beyond that point makes no sense - that's what should dictate when he makes the NHL, not tangential concerns about injuries.
  10. ironic, considering the most whined about contract in Benning's tenure is the guy "lord" in your avatar. A contract LV elected to select in the expansion draft - buffering the Canucks from a different loss in the ED. Won't ask about the other outrageous contracts you're referring to (ones during Gilman's tenure that may have precipitated differences with the current management group) - but will say that it's hard to take your flip-flop homer/hater thing too seriously my friend.
  11. and, of course....... lol.
  12. Termination: the Isles D Stefan Elliott. https://www.todaysslapshot.com/nhl-news/defenseman-stefan-elliott-signs-khl/
  13. Well, that is the discussion you entered. You may not care about it - but again, that was the subject matter. I'd like to see that quote.
