  1. My reaction to all of the new signings:

  2. I don't think he'll necessarily be used like a top pairing guy. More like Myers will be trusted to take on some of Tanev's workload while getting offensive opportunities. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. I firmly believe Tanev has been injured so often precisely because he is playing too many hard defensive minutes on a team that has struggled with cleanly driving the play to the offensive zone, and no other RD can be safely trusted with that responsibility. Adding some quality help could change that. Granted, it doesn't have to be Myers, it just has to be good enough.
  3. I imagine this is the Islanders' front office right now. Not a bad deal, even in a down year for Eberle. If he stays a consistent 50 point guy, they can consider it a steal
  4. Saw a recap of Undertaker vs Goldberg the other God, it was so brutal to watch them almost kill each other with botched moves. WWE deserves to go out of business.

    1. NewbieCanuckFan

Goldberg ended the career of Brett Hart with a botched move.  All brawn and no brains.

  5. Just finished putting bets on a bunch of things in this round -6 to 7 games total, regardless of winner -Top point scorer for this series being Brad Marchand -Tuukka Rask winning the Conn Smythe -Boston winning Game 1 and the series Not feeling great doing it, but I think that's where the winnings are. St Louis is depending too much on Schwartz and Tarasenko for top 6 goal-scoring, and Binnington just isn't performing like Rask, despite both being great
  6. Is it just me, or is Twilight Sparkle turning into Midnight Sparkle?
  7. Really? Gonna have to check my account too
  8. Just saw the new Grinch movie. I can safely say that it was good enough for me to forgive Illumnation for their Lorax movie

      @Rounoush you take that back!

Jim Carey was amazing in The Grinch

    3. Ghostsof1915

      Sorry. Karloff/Jones/Seuss is definitive.

    4. Rounoush

@5Fivehole0 Regardless of if Carrey's performance was great or not, that movie was hot garbage.

  9. Feeling pretty good about putting down $20 on Petterson for the Calder yesterday morning. Although I did also put $10 on Yamamoto just in case. Guy's guaranteed time with McDavid and Draisaitl, after all

BCLC gave 6.25 to 1 on Petterson, 16 to 1 on Yamamoto.

  10. Ok, Netflix, I admit it, you were right to spam me with adverts for 'Hilda'. It's a pretty good cartoon. I'll treat it as your apology for that Magic School Bus reboot.

I thought their "Final Space" cartoon was pretty good too.

Hilda was awesome. Very pleasantly surprised by it.

The only cartoons Alf likes is interestingly also starts with the letter H.  Hentai.  :o

  11. Well, no bet money for me.

  12. Anyone got money riding on the Finals? It's my first ever sport bet, and I got $45 on Vegas winning in 6 or 7 on BCLC. I also put $5 on Kuznetsov winning the Conn Smythe...not such a great move now.

Couldn't bring myself to bet on it after seeing Sutherland assigned to the series.  I simply don't trust that scumbag not to rig the final.

    3. Neil HD

      Neil HD

At the time I placed the bet, the payout on both series outcomes I picked was 4.9, so I put $22.50 on each. Also, the payout for Kuznetsov was 20.

As for Sutherland, I see your point, although there are no Canadian teams to get screwed over here. Besides, if he does strike again, he would probably be under orders to steer things in Vegas' favour, given the massive PR/ ratings boost if the Cup is won by an inaugural team carrying the hopes of a city dealing with a somewhat recent tragedy.

Also, I remember that Ovechkin and the Capitals management were pretty defiant when the NHL was enforcing the Olympic participation ban. Bettman probably won't forget that.

Sorry if I sound like a conspiracy nut, but anything with millions of dollars at stake needs a cynical view.

should've put 100 on Vegas to win back last summer when the odds were 500:1

      Hurr durr

  13. Man, Alex Jones could have been an amazing voice actor. It's a shame he was talked into Info Wars first

It's a shame that his father didn't pull out 45 years ago.

lol i think he's hilarious, some of the clips of him.

  14. The new Venom trailer has me cautiously optimistic. The CGI design of Venom himself is especially appealing.

Can't be any worse than Spiderman 3

      Spider-Man 3 is a legendary movie.

  15. Just finished watching Titanic with the family over Easter dinner. Still one of the greatest stories ever put to film.

    1. Ghostsof1915

I still love Kate Winslet. But the supporting actors on that movie where fantastic. Why is it the CGI in that holds up better than some later CGI?

  16. Down the stretch, all I want this team to do is help get Horvat his pound of flesh in the form of points.

It looks like they're too inept to even accomplish that.

  17. A question of Pokemon fans familiar with Gen 1: Which of the original 151 Pokemon do you think was forgettable enough that it shouldn't have existed? My vote goes to Tangela

  18. Wish I could jump in there and roll around in all that cascading white powder...

  19. Rough game, but at least Boeser isn't being held back by Horvat's absence.

Also, I had the weirdest dream about Horvat. In the dream, the Canucks fell out of the playoff race on the last day of the season at the Oilers' hands, and the Sedins were directly involved in every goal against. Horvat then blew up at the team in a players meeting, tears and all, and directly called out Henrik.

Then the dream cut to Horvat in a parked black SUV, cussing out people over the phone. For some reason, I was part of the team, but was wearing a boot for a foot injury. I was about to call Horvat to invite him to an escape room, but I woke up at that moment.

  20. Used a soldering iron for the first time yesterday. My wireless mouse is working again and I managed not to burn the house down. #SmallVictories

I reattached the black and red wires leading from the batteries to the  circuit board.

Nothing much, but then again, I'm someone who dropped out of a welding course two weeks into it because I handled every tool like a hand grenade.

Not usually a good sign when you rip the pin out a throw a perfectly good torch across the room...

  21. What an episode from Dragon Ball Super! Finally, a payoff that did something fresh and reignited that feeling of watching DBZ in my childhood

      I'm loving Super tbh

It's all of you dumbasses that keep feeding these companies cash after already initially buying their games that are at fault.

Let them cry about how much games cost to make.  They can do what movie companies do and team up with other companies if they don't want to risk losing their rear ends if their game fails.

  23. Had a bison burger for the first time yesterday at Sharkey's. Very tasty, like a leaner version of ground lamb, as opposed to the beef flavor I was expecting, and it paired really well with the whiskey BBQ sauce.

      Kangaroo burgers are exotic :3

  24. So I finally got around to watching Spider-Man Homecoming, and I was pleasantly surprised. Tom Holland did a great job portraying both Peter Parker and Spider-Man, and the writing and directing did a pretty good job of honouring the comic books while bringing new concepts to the table. Overall, it's equally as good as the first movie from the Sam Raimi trilogy.

Also, that twist regarding the Vulture was beautiful. Had me doing this the whole scene: 306f4c6bc76bb57353d349af5c4964cbc09305c9f5029d319443922b8b3b8f07.jpg.ebe22a569dd48ecae22e27647f076b9f.jpg

Like how they added the Shocker in it as well.
