  1. Stepping down, definitely the lone professional thing he's done in the back half of his career
  2. This gives off a smell of desperation by Oilers management. They may not have confidence that McDavid will want to stick around past the next two seasons.
  3. With all the ill will he leaves behind wherever he goes, you'd think his real name was Tony Soprano
  4. When I look at Jack Johnson, I can't help but think of him as a living reminder that while all children deserve loving parents, not all parents deserve loving children
  5. So Shane Doan is now the Special Advisor to the General Manager for the Leafs. Fun.

Heading off the threat of Matthews to Arizona by bringing captain Arizona to Toronto

  6. Blue Jackets are on the razor's edge now. Between Severson, Provorov, Gaudreau, Laine, Jenner, and Merzlikins, along with maybe two more decent adds, there has to be enough talent and drive to become a consistent playoff contender immediately. They cannot afford another losing season like 2023, because that's another decade wasted for this team
  7. Someone watched Beef on Netflix and took away all the wrong lessons from it
  8. End of the Auston Matthews saga in Toronto?

If I'm Toronto management I try to trade AM at the draft. I believe both he and Marner have NMCs that kick in July 1. One has to assume that he won't re-sign. The decision is for them to either make one last run next year or get some assets for him now before his NMC kicks in. It's too tough a sell to trade him at the TDL from a PR perspective and they are unlikely to get high picks from a contender. The most value would be extracted at the draft imo.

      Send him to Mullet Arena!!!

What great return will they get for him though? as he will be a UFA to that team as well.

If TML cannot sign him before July1 st, they will be screwed

  9. 73 pts reg season + point per game in the first round...where has this version Brandon Montour been the whole time?

  10. Bowness is now fully experiencing what convinced Paul Maurice to resign from coaching the Jets
  11. Hmmm...Islanders win with 5 goals scored tonight, but no points for Horvat. Shouldn't have put $7 on him

@Alflives I'm not convinced that it's a bad trade so far. Horvat's had a very poor playoff series, but his faceoff percentage came as advertised. Horvat's also got his SHG touch (albeit at a meaningless time of the game). This is obviously a learning curve for him.

If I were an Islanders fan, I'd give him a mulligan on this year.  No excuses next year though

  12. Not a fan of Linkin Park pivoting to AI-generated music videos. Only about half of "Lost" is pleasant on the eyes, the rest looks like a cheap anime filter. But not surprising when you consider that Mike Shinoda is entrenched in the NFT grift

  13. Good news: only 4 more games of Tyler Myers left this season

Bad news: only 4 more games of Elias Petterson left this season

extra bad news...once Myers is gone we can count the years left in Ekman-Larson contract!!!

  14. I've said it before, but the only way is for us to crash the value of Canucks Sport & Entertainment with a mass boycott. There is no will in this city to do that.
  15. If they're smart, they'll use him to generate scoring chances in tight around the net
  16. This trade feels like the purest distillation of this phrase The right move at the wrong time, and now we need a defensive stalwart to pair with each of Hughes and Hronek to stop hemorrhaging goals against, the problem we've actually been facing for years
  17. As much as I'm against Putin and the Russian Government, I've had to learn not to put much stock in the words of those who support dictatorial regimes in their home country, especially if refusing to be part of the propaganda invites danger upon their loved ones.
